Visiting Budapest was the third country in an 11 country tour that I took recently. I have to start by saying Budapest is a must visit city in general. Go ahead, add it to your bucket list. You won’t be disappointed. Trust Pierre.
Anyways, the first hotel I stayed at in Budapest was the Kempinski. This was my first introduction to the Kempinski brand. The first thing I noticed was how centrally located the hotel is. It’s right next to a huge park called Erzsébet Square and there was a great view from my window. This was a nice touch, bravo.
Upon arrival at the hotel the greeting was very warm and welcoming. Compared to the customer service I’ve experienced at other businesses around Budapest the service at the Kempinski was exceptional. All the staff made me feel very comfortable and I was kindly escorted up to my room.
I was very delighted to see a high-end espresso machine in the room which other coffee addicts will appreciate. These days this is should be a requirement in all 5 star hotels. Parts of the hotel design have been updated more frequently than others. That being said, even though some parts are a little dated the hotel still offers all of the features and amenities that newer hotels offer just with an older style. At the end of the day, this comes down to your personal preference.
I wasn’t able to eat a planned lunch at their Es Bisztro because I was under the weather which was sad because the menu looked really good. However, don’t worry folks! I was able to enjoy breakfast there so let me tell you all about it!
The design of ES Bizstro is very pleasant and offered a nice environment for chow time! Along with the good food it was a great combination of style and taste! It was super busy when I was there so I could tell that the hotel was doing some great business. The selection at breakfast was very extensive. If you’re serious about eating like Pierre you will enjoy it for sure.
I was under the weather during my stay as I said earlier so I wasn’t able to try out the gym but I did take some photos for you! You’re welcome. The gym isn’t huge but you won’t have any issues burning off some excess calories there.
When it comes down to it, the Kempinski hotel in Budapest has a very solid offering in almost all areas. They really are great when it comes to their service, location and the quality of food. The older style took away from the overall score a bit but because they performed well in other areas I won’t hold it too heavily against them. Wink. At the end of the day I definitely have to recommend the Kempinski in Budapest as a solid choice for your next stay.
