Over the years, I have worked my way through practically all of the high-end hotels in Bangkok, Thailand. The Siam Hotel is ranked very highly and is quite well known in the area, so I was very excited to take the opportunity to visit this year! The property is located along the Chao Phraya River, in a relaxed part of the city.

We arrived at The Siam early in the afternoon to be greeted by the pleasant staff who escorted us inside for our check-in process. We were then escorted to our room on the third floor by our butler. Upon arrival, we were served a passion fruit juice welcome drink.

On the way to our room, I noticed many beautiful aspects of the property, including the large water feature in the center. The Siam Hotel basically has a forest and a pond inside of it. Can’t say I see this every day!

When I opened the door to my room, I first entered a comfortable living room area. In the living room you will find a coffee machine, sofa, minibar and television. Once you pass through the living room, the ceiling rises to approximately double that of the first room, to a very spacious bedroom. Lots of artwork throughout the space, and two bicycles were mounted on the walls.

In the back of the bedroom, you’ll find a wide desk and two separate closets.

My favorite feature of the room at The Siam was the beautiful bathtub in the bathroom. Grandiose in size, the bathroom was lovely with it’s symmetrical design.

It was time to check out the rest of this expansive property! We first made our way down to the pool, to get there, we walked through long corridors, tunnels made of greenery, and much more. As you walk around the property, it makes you feel that you’re walking around a private palace.

The pool is a long lap pool that sits alongside the river. The pool was a great place to enjoy the sunset and of course, take a dip.

Just next to pool, you’ll find The Siam’s restaurant, where the breakfast takes place. The breakfast was made up of a small continental breakfast buffet, and a fairly extensive a la carte menu complete with Thai and Western options. They certainly know how to plate beautiful food, with everything also being quite tasty.

The Siam Hotel also boasts a fairly substantial fitness center. At the fitness center, you will find several pieces of cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights and a full-sized boxing ring. However, The Siam has no steam room, sauna or relaxation areas inside of the locker rooms.

My stay at The Siam Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand was short and mostly sweet. It’s easy to see why many visitors are impressed with the design of the property. I liked the calmness of the area, the design of the property, the food and the service. My major critiques were the lack of air conditioning or fans in a few of the public areas, not having a steam room or sauna, limited breakfast buffet and lack of ammenities considering the price-point. If your main focus is the design of your hotel, you should definitely check out The Siam in Bangkok, Thailand!
