I had another first while in Bangkok, this was a visit to the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. The property is located along a quiet stretch of the Chao Phraya River. Just next door to the Anantara Riverside Resort which you can read about in a separate article here. Anantara Riverside Resort is a bit more traditional luxury, while a Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel is modern, but still on the higher-end. The hotel was still quite new when I visited and this was reflected in all areas of the contemporary design. There’s a free shuttle boat offered every 20 minutes to the nearest BTS station which is Saphan Taksin.

I absolutely loved the 11th floor lobby of the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. The tall ceilings and tall windows with great views of the surrounding area were accented beautifully with a chic design throughout. My check-in process was smooth and then I headed up to the 19th floor to view my room.
My room had an incredible view of the Chao Praya River and Bangkok! It was a pleasant surprise to see a layout slightly different than the standard glass divider of the bathroom and room. Instead, there were sliding doors that open up the bathroom to the rest of the room, to make it feel more spacious. The bedding was very comfortable and there was also a working desk and chair.
The bathroom had a fairly simple setup with a separated toilet stall, and separated shower stall. Everything I needed was there.
The closet was sizable with lots of room to store my luggage.
For my stay at the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel I had Avani Club Access. This was a new concept to me! On the beautiful lobby level, instead of a standard club lounge, I had access to food and snacks at all times of day. This was not only a small selection, this was basically a small supermarket, which I could take as much as I wanted to eat there or to takeaway. There was sushi, sandwiches, coconuts, beer, pastries, fruit, parfait, yogurt, they had it all. Avani Club access also gave me evening hors d’oeuvres and cocktail hours from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Any excuse to spend more time in this beautiful lobby was welcomed by me!
The rooftop pool on the 26th floor was absolutely stunning! The pool, lounge, and also the SEEN Restaurant were all gorgeous. This area was packed during my stay, and I could easily see why!
Guests will find breakfast on the lobby level at the Skyline Restaurant. This is another gorgeous part of the property, and also had great service. The breakfast had a very wide variety of food to choose from, both international and local.
During my stay, I also had dinner at the Skyline Restaurant. For the evening I enjoyed their expansive buffet dinner. Actually, it was so tasty that I’ve written about the entire experience in a separate article here! The summary is that it’s completely worth a meal. It’s a one stop shop for amazing Thai food and international favorites. Tasty!
During the stay I had dinner at the SEEN Restaurant as well. The SEEN Restaurant and Bar focus on high-end cocktails but also have a substantial variety of food. If you’re ordering food, I would recommend the tacos, beetroot carpaccio, steak, and oysters. The menu is fairly new, so there were some kinks to work out. However, the atmosphere there was quite magical, so even just a drink would be a nice reason to visit and enjoy the view.
On the 25th floor guests can find the modern gym. This is a 24/7 access gym with a few cardio machines, weight machines and some free-weights. It does tend to get a little busy.
This was a great introduction to the Avani brand. Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel is a beautiful property with a lot to offer. If you’re looking for a very relaxed area to base your Bangkok travels from, look no further than the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel!
