I was truly excited to visit Dubai for my third time! Most will know that the United Arab Emirates is well known for its large number of luxury hotels, plenty for Pierre to explore. My first stop was the Fairmont Dubai. The Fairmont Dubai is practically connected to the World Trade Center Metro station. It’s possible to reach the property from the Dubai airport in approximately 20-30 minutes or less, depending on mode of transportation.

The first aspect of the property I enjoyed was the lobby, with its tall ceilings and lovely magic carpet centerpiece. After speaking with the staff at the reception counter, I learned I could check in on the 33rd floor, at the Fairmont Gold Club Lounge.
After my smooth check-in, it was time to visit my one bedroom suite on the 18th floor of the Fairmont Dubai. First I noticed the dining room table, equipped with a Arabic sweets and fruit for my welcome amenity. I love dates! From practically all areas in the suite were brilliant city views. Whether it was day or night, the skyline of Dubai is simply stunning.
The coffee station made me happy, with its nicely organized layout.
The bedroom was quite spacious as well, much like the living room. The room had a comfortable bed and daybed next to the window. I liked that both of the thermostats could be set to 1/2 degree measurements for added comfort.
The bathroom was massive! It had a full bathtub and separated shower stall. The toiletries were of great quality and included mouthwash, which I don’t always find. There was a sense of quality in its construction. There was also a half-bathroom connected to the living room. All in all, this suite felt a bit more like a high-end serviced apartment then a standard hotel, a place I could spend lots of time.
On the ninth floor of the Fairmont Dubai you will find two pools, a fitness center, men’s salon, women’s salon, spa, poolside lounge as well as relaxation areas. I can’t remember the last time I visited a hotel with pools for both sunrise and sunset, but Fairmont Dubai has them.
The gym was also sizable, offering tons of equipment. Everything needed for a great workout can be found at the Fairmont Dubai gym.
On the ground floor of the property you will find the Cascades all-day dining restaurant. Cascades is where the main hotel breakfast is offered. Cascades has a wide variety of options on its buffet. Note that we visited just after Ramadan so there was a special tent setup over the dining area.
Being on the 33rd floor, the Fairmont Gold Club Lounge offers a nice view of Dubai. Fairmont Gold offers its elite guests a special breakfast, afternoon tea (from 13:00-17:00) and evening open bar with hors d’oeuvres. The breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and canapes in the Fairmont Gold Club Lounge were splendid. The breakfast at the lounge was practically the same size as Cascades but offered a quieter and more private atmosphere.
The afternoon tea sandwiches were incredible, my personal favorite were any with their homemade beetroot bread! In fact, all of their bread is made in house and all of it was fantastic.
Fairmont Dubai offers several food and beverage outlets to choose from. My absolute favorite was The Exchange Grill, which you can read about in a separate article. Along with Cascades and The Exchange Grill they have Noir, their dine in the dark restaurant. If you haven’t tried dining in the dark, you absolutely must give it a shot. This was my second time trying, and it was fun to compare with my previous dine in the dark experience in Thailand. Overall, the food was tremendous and it made for a special evening. At the end of the meal we were revealed the items that we ate.
I merely mentioned to a staff member at the front desk that I had a slightly sore throat and upon returning to my room, I discovered a lovely chamomile tea with honey surprise! Thanks Fairmont Dubai!
My days at the Fairmont Dubai were very enjoyable! This is indeed more of a business hotel but I found it to have many luxury elements as well. Its convenient location, great food and friendly service help make it a very solid Dubai hotel choice. All in all, I would be delighted to recommend and return to the Fairmont Dubai.
