Wireless Road in Bangkok, Thailand is home to several embassies, homes of ambassadors, a few notable luxury hotels, financial buildings, basically some of the most expensive real estate in the city. One of these notable hotels is the Oriental Residence. It’s a short walk from the Phloen Chit BTS station and the Central Embassy shopping mall. The Oriental Residence is a hotel that I was happy to finally visit and check off my list!

When I first walked into the Oriental Residence I felt like I had already been there because I had seen all of social media posts that featured this aesthetically pleasing lobby. A grandiose ceiling and a light color palette emphasize the luxurious feeling, accented with traditional Thai influences. The chandeliers don’t hurt either.
My room was on the 20th floor of the Oriental Residence Bangkok. The view was delightful, I could see lots of greenery from the surrounding properties and astonishing views of the Bangkok skyline. The room was comfortable and it definitely did feel like a place I could stay for an extended period. Actually, this property focuses on long-stays, and you’ll see why in a minute. The bedding at the Oriental Residence was the softest I have ever experienced. This gave me a few nights of absolutely perfect handsome sleep. Also, thank you Oriental Residence staff for the chocolates and strawberries!
The Oriental Residence room had a comfortable seating area equipped with a small dining table. There is no desk in the room so I had to make do with the table, but this actually worked out fine.
Another very notable feature is the fact that the rooms at the Oriental Residence have full-sized kitchens. This feature is not often found in hotels but useful if you are staying for an extended period of time or simply love to cook.
In the kitchen you’ll find a few appliances as well as TWG tea and quality coffee for the provided French press.
These Oriental Residence rooms are definitely built for the long term guests as they have lots of storage space as well. The bathroom was quite spacious and had a massive shower stall. People of all shapes and sizes can easily fit! Check out the beautiful design of the toiletries boxes!
The pool and gym are found on the fourth floor of the Oriental Residence Bangkok. The pool is open on the sides but covered from the sun except for an area at the end. I loved the design of the cabanas around the pool and enjoyed a short nap inside one of the pods.
Their small gym on the 4th floor has multiple cardio machines and free weights, but no weight machines. The Oriental Residence does not have a steam room or sauna.
The Oriental Residence breakfast is located on the lobby level at Café Claire. Being inside Café Claire transported me to Europe. I was impressed by the size of their buffet as well as the inclusion of an à la carte menu. Eggs and a few other breakfast options can be ordered. This breakfast really hit the spot and a major asset to the property!
During our visit, the staff were mostly out of sight and did a good job at making sure everything was in tip-top condition. From the design, to the view, to the presentation of the food, the Oriental Residence does it right. Basically, this is a great Instagram hotel! The property left me feeling very pleasant and quite certain you will too!
