During my recent stay at the Lord Byron hotel in Rome, I had a chance to have dinner at their Sapori del Lord Byron restaurant. The dinner took place in their lovely dining room which incorporates luxury accents with a comfortable atmosphere.
To get the meal started, I had to order negroni which was a very common theme during my stay in Italy. Shortly after there was a tray of amuse bouches to start the evening. They were quite tasty and I especially loved the olives!
For the hors d’oeuvres, I ordered scallops with artichokes and “bagna cauda” sauce. This was one of the most beautifully seared scallops that I’ve ever laid my eyes. Just look at that crispy top. The artichoke was very pleasant and I loved the sauce. Definitely recommended!
Up next for the first course was the Calamarata pasta with prawns, broccoli, fresh ricotta cheese and marjoram. This was a very filling dish to say the least. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The presentation could have been improved, but the taste was great.
For the main course I went with a grilled fillet of beef with wild mushroom cream and Swiss chard. A gorgeous looking dish, and like the scallop, the steak really stood out visually. It surely will cause one to drool.
To finish off the evening, I ordered a tiramisu with lemoncello. This was the best tiramisu that I’ve had while in Italy. What a great way to finish the evening!
Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the Sapori del Lord Byron restaurant at the Lord Byron hotel in Rome. Just like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant felt quite comfortable and luxurious as well. The food was good overall but no game changers. I can say that I had a great evening at the Sapori del Lord Byron!
