Prior to this trip I had only been to Germany once so I was very excited to finally visit Berlin for the first time! Berlin has a lot of interesting history but also nowadays is very is developing very rapidly. My first hotel stay in the city center was the Grand Hyatt Berlin, just near Potsdamer Platz. I took a train in from Poland and walked to the hotel which was about 25 minutes from the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin’s main train station.) The Grand Hyatt Berlin is located in Mitte, Berlin’s central borough, home of the Brandenburg Gate. From the hotel, everything was easy to visit!

I arrived in the mid-afternoon and met the friendly reception staff to easily check in. I secured a 1 King Bed with Club Access room which was located on the 7th floor. I couldn’t wait to check it out! It’d been a month or so since my last Hyatt property (which was the Park Hyatt in Dubai) but as soon as I entered, I was quickly enveloped with their styling that felt so familiar. Hyatt keeps their interior design modern, artistic, and luxurious. I love the way this 38 square meter room fit together.
The bedding was very comfortable and next to it were lighting controls to set the mood. The room also had a large table that doubled as a working desk, a lounge chair with ottoman, teakettle, and city view.
Thank you Grand Hyatt Berlin for the champagne welcome gift!
The beautiful style continued into the bathroom where there was a full-size bathtub and separate shower. The toiletries were pleasant and I definitely took advantage of the provided bath salts.
Up one floor from mine was the Olympus Club on the eighth floor of the Grand Hyatt Berlin. In the Olympus Club is a steam room, dry sauna, pool, and fitness center. The steam room, sauna, and showers are all shared by both genders. Everything was gorgeous and of the highest quality. A great facility indeed with friendly staff!
The Hyatt Club Lounge was on the same floor as my room and featured a continental breakfast, afternoon tea time, and evening cocktail and dinner period. The selection of items during each period was decent, not overwhelming or modest, a happy medium. Everything did taste great and the service was fairly good. That being said, as the lounge offers only a continental breakfast I would recommend going down to the Vox Restaurant on the ground floor for a more extensive breakfast.
At the main breakfast at the Vox Restaurant there was a huge selection on the buffet as well as the ability to order eggs any way you’d like. The staff were truly great and very friendly. It felt very familiar to cheerful American hospitality. The Eggs Benedict I had was just perfect! Well job Grand Hyatt Berlin!
Hyatt is one of my favorite hotel brands and the Grand Hyatt Berlin didn’t disappoint! I love how they fit in an artistic touch into the modern design. Pairing this full-featured property with its lovely staff and location is a recipe for success! If you want top accommodation in Berlin, look no further than Grand Hyatt Berlin!
