Although I have lived in Bangkok for three years, I had still never visited the infamous Phuket. If you’re not familiar, Phuket is a very famous resort covered island in the south of Thailand. I knew that these resorts were the types that would blow my socks off so when I finally had the opportunity to visit, I jumped on it!

After spending three weeks on a recent trip to Bangkok, I took a short flight from Don Muang airport to Phuket. The flight only lasted an hour. Once we arrived, we found the staff waiting for us at the airport. We were then whisked away in a private car. 40 minutes later we arrived at the property. I had seen many photos of what they offer online but I didn’t know how it would look in reality. Everything looked 10 times better in person than it did in the photos! For example the entrance was so extravagant stretching on for about 100 meters.
Andara is both a residence and a resort. I’ll be the first to admit that I wouldn’t put up much of a fight to live there. Wink. All of their buildings are very grandiose. Everything feels luxurious and it’s really quite impressive! Take a look at how large this living room is! Our villa actually had three rooms. This helps explain why there is a ginormous kitchen and living area.
I walked around for about 10 minutes continuously and freaked out about how beautiful it was. The bedroom was absolutely lavish. It was decorated with beautiful traditional Thai and other Asian artwork. The bathroom had two separate sinks and a bathtub which you could easily bathe an elephant in. All sizes welcomed.
I briefly mentioned it before, but they have a full kitchen which is completely stocked and ready to prepare anything that your heart desires. No private chef so chef Pierre had to step in.
Another feature that was very delightful was the huge balcony. Outside they have nice sofa along with table and chairs where it’s possible to eat.
This property had many different types of accommodations some with private pools and some without. I was able to tour the premises and see all of the different villas.
Their Silk restaurant is located above the lobby. Here there is also giant infinity pool! What a perfect place to relax. I will also discuss the dinner I had their in a separate article. It is important to mention the many options for breakfast. They have a substantial buffet or you can choose to order off the menu. They offer both Thai and western dishes. I must say that the breakfast was phenomenal both of the mornings.
Another very important feature of the property is their fitness area. The gym is fully stocked with all the equipment you would ever possibly need. They told us that they get many compliments about the gym. I can see why!
I must also mentioned that we had fantastic massages during our stay. Not just fantastic actually, they were flawless. Normally, I enjoy massage but it’s not my favorite past time because of the tightness of my incredibly large muscles. However, the massage I received at Andara made me feel so relaxed with no pain, it was like I was being massaged by an angel. Maybe she was an angel?
The property is quite hilly so they offer a buggy service which will bring you up and down from your residence. Even though they offer this, it was nice to walk in between meals. Don’t be lazy! They even have cars that will take you in to the nearby village. As long as it’s not too far away you can easily hop in a car and they will drive you wherever you want to go. Andara also owns beach frontage which they will be more than happy to bring you to.
The service throughout the stay was exceptional. I was really impressed by how kind and accommodating everyone was. There were no hiccups, not even one. If you want to stay in a beautiful resort, the type that you see in the movies, that offers breathtaking views, phenomenal service and great food I would highly recommend that you visit Andara in Phuket, Thailand!
