My stay in Bangkok was finally winding down and one of the last properties that I visited was the Chatrium Riverside hotel. The property is located quite near the Saphan Taksin BTS station. From the station, you can easily go downstairs to the pier to catch the free hotel shuttle boat. Just a few minutes on the boat and you will arrive at this Chatrium.

I quickly noticed their River Barge restaurant along the riverside.

Upon a quick and friendly check in process, I headed up to the 33rd floor to have a look at my massive suite. If you’re familiar, the building is actually circular and my suite had both a south and west facing view. The living room was very comfortable. Connected to the living room was the biggest hotel balcony I think I’ve ever had. In case you wanted to cook there is also a full-sized kitchen! The bathroom was located between the living room and bedroom. One last feature I wanted to point out is that my room offered 2 pieces of laundry per day which made my incredibly happy. It’s the little things folks.

The bedroom was my favorite part of the suite. Very comfortable bedding with beautiful pillows. A nice light along the top edge of the bed created a lovely ambiance in the evening. From the bedroom’s desk, I enjoyed watching the boats go by as I got to my work.

I was sure to head up to the executive club lounge on the 36th floor. At the lounge you’ll be able to enjoy afternoon tea time as well as evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. They also have non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day but the lounge does not offer breakfast.

The breakfast buffet on the ground floor was enormous. They really filled up all of the space available with a very wide selection of items. No matter what part of the world you’re from, you’ll find something you will enjoy. Even though it was quite busy everyday, the service was impressively good.

Revisiting the River Barge restaurant for dinner time was even more impressive than breakfast. The buffet selection only got wider and the quality of food was quite good. I was extremely excited for the fish tacos! They even had live music to enjoy while you ate. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this restaurant.

To work off all of those calories you’re going to want to hit the gym. Luckily they have a fantastic gym which was practically empty my whole stay. Lots of great equipment and just a very pleasant overall atmosphere. In the changing room you’ll find a nice sauna as well.

They have a fantastic rooftop pool which gets lots of sun during the daytime. Next to the pool there’s also a bar so you can really relax!

I enjoyed a second dinner at their Silver Waves restaurant which you will be able to read about in a separate article. Silver Waves is their Chinese restaurant located on the 36th floor, but I’ll go more into detail in another article.

When it was all over, I was quite sad to leave this fantastic property. It was a great introduction to the Chatrium hotel brand. I commend them for this very wonderful experience which had great service, lovely and relaxing location, tasty food and splendid views. I can easily recommend the fantastic Chatrium Riverside hotel in Bangkok, Thailand!
