The InterContinental hotel in Bangkok is located just in front of the Chit Lom BTS station. The property is surrounded by high-end shopping malls. From the moment I walked in, I immediately noticed the extravagant lobby. Once my room was ready it was up to the 25th floor to check out my room.

The room layout was practically the same as the InterContinental on Park Lane in London. InterContinental rooms are consistently high quality, something I’ve come to truly appreciate. With more of a business feel, the room fit my personal style. The bathroom featured both the bathtub and a large gorgeous marble shower. The room had a kettle but no coffee machine.
The part of this property that got me the most excited would have to be their InterContinental Club Lounge on the 37th floor. While most hotels in Bangkok have lovely lounges, this was a step above. The lounge overlooks the Royal Bangkok Sports Club which has a horse track and golf course. During afternoon tea I was able to watch a horse race! The lounge not only had this fantastic view but a lovely breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. It was all great!
The à la carte breakfast in the lounge was incredible. I went with the steak cooked medium rare both days and I simply fell in love. I don’t think I’ve ever had that good of a steak at breakfast. Incredible.
The afternoon tea was also something above and beyond. They offer a full-service afternoon tea which is included with your lounge access. Obviously I was impressed at the amazing value.
Just up a few stairs from the InterContinental Club Lounge is the rooftop pool. Having a pool up so high was amazing. You can practically see all of the city center from there.
The gym is down one floor from the lounge and offers the same panoramic views of the city below. There is tons of equipment which keeps the gym never feeling busy. After my morning run, I checked out the changing room to find a hot tub, steam room and sauna.
This hotel definitely has a fantastic location. It’s within walking distance of Lumphini Park which is one of my favorite parks in the city. The views from this property are simply stunning. I’ve always been a fan of the InterContinental style and the extravagance of the Bangkok property really impressed me. My stay was amazing and therefore I would easily be able to recommend the InterContinental hotel in Bangkok! Go go go!
