I was first introduced to COMO Hotels a few years back in London. It was there where I reviewed COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin. To this day, I remember being enamored with those initial properties! Certainly, COMO Hotels are known for their beautiful architecture which seems to be always sleek and modern, no matter where they’re located around the globe.

Now, I was back in Asia and learned about the COMO properties in Thailand. After such a good experience in the UK, I made it a point to visit COMO Metropolitan Bangkok.
The COMO Metropolitan Bangkok is located in Sathorn which is the city’s central business district. In addition to being the business center of Bangkok, Sathorn features of large offering of restaurants, hotels, shopping, parks, and overall conveniences. Specifically, the park I am mentioning is Lumphini Park which is a must see while visiting Bangkok. In conclusion, I can say this is a lovely area of the city!
Arrival and Introduction
My COMO experience in Bangkok actually started with an airport transfer from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), which took about 30 minutes. Once I arrived at the property, I was impressed with the beauty of the entrance and lobby.
In the lobby, I met several staff members who were warm and friendly. This warmth continued for the duration of my stay. The lobby featured high ceilings, a clean white design, comfortable furniture, and red accents sprinkled about.
Metropolitan Room
My room type at the COMO Metropolitan Bangkok was a Metropolitan Room. Unlike many hotels in Asia, this room was massive. This Metropolitan Room featured a king size bed, sofa, lounge chair, coffee table, working desk, large closet, sizable minibar, Bose sound system, USB charging ports, a tasty welcome treat, and more. The design was very sleek and relaxing with its view of the front entrance and pool area.
The master bathroom of the Metropolitan Room featured a bathtub, rain shower, single sink vanity, COMO branded toiletries, scale, and a very large mirror. Indeed a very comfortable and functional bathroom.
Facilities
During my stay, I quickly recognized that the hotel’s pool was the main focus of the property. This was the most visually stunning area of the whole hotel. Around the pool were lots of comfortable lounge chairs and very attentive staff.
One floor up from the pool was the COMO Shambhala Urban Escape Spa and fitness center. I was greatly impressed with the size of the gym, which featured a massive amount of quality equipment. Everything was top-of-the-line and was great for a variety of workout styles.
COMO Shambhala Urban Escape Spa
My first experience with the COMO Shambhala Spa brand was actually in the Maldives. There I was introduced to their very unique and lovely massage technique. Now in Bangkok, I got to experience it once again with their signature massage. Their technique is a very much focused on relaxation. This was not something intense like a deep tissue massage. The technique focuses on longer strokes that are softer. Overall, a great experience!
Nahm Restaurant
During my stay at COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, Nahm Restaurant was the only open food and beverage outlet. This was because their other outlets were under renovation. I actually didn’t mind it because Nahm was great! The restaurant has been open for about 10 years and currently has a Michelin star. Those of you that know me know that I don’t put full faith in the Michelin rating system, but in this case, they were definitely spot on.
Firstly, the dining room was gorgeous both during the day and night. Indoor and outdoor seating were available.
I went for a dinner and found it to be a true culinary masterpiece! This was an adventure which kept my taste buds on their toes. So many amazing flavors to enjoy, not to mention amazing service as well as drinks. Now I can see why this has been so highly ranked over the years. Amazing.
Breakfast also occurred in the Nahm Restaurant during my stay. The breakfast was mainly an à la carte menu which had a variety of tasty options both Asian and Western. In addition to the menu, there was a moderately sized buffet as well with items like fruit and pastries. A vast majority of what I ate I truly loved and couldn’t wait to enjoy it each morning poolside.
COMO Suites
Subsequently I also had a chance to tour the property and view their suites on the 11th floor. They have both one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites available. These were gorgeous.
Conclusion
From start to finish, I absolutely adored my time at the COMO Metropolitan Bangkok. First and foremost, the design of the property was stunning and chic. Secondly, the location in Sathorn was very convenient. Thirdly, the service was also top notch. In conclusion, if you’re someone interested in the finer things, great location, amazing service, beautiful design, and lovely food, look no further than the COMO Metropolitan Bangkok!
