My last hotel stay on the most recent trip to São Paulo, Brazil was the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi. This hotel has recently undergone a complete renovation and is stunning! From the photos I knew it would be beautiful, but when I arrived I was even more impressed. This was also my first trip to Brazil and went after first staying in Rio de Janeiro for a month. I think Sao Paulo was actually more suitable for me in the end. Anyways, the Itaim Bibi area where the property is located is incredibly convenient. Nearly everything will be at your fingertips! The area is quite clean, modern, and pleasant.

Walking into the lobby of the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi really makes your jaw drop. There’s a mix between many different elements including greenery, modern lighting, high ceilings, and lots of comfortable furniture. I arrived in the middle of the day and had a very smooth check-in process with a friendly receptionist. After I learned that my room was located on the 21st floor, I got excited to see the views.
Entering the room, I was impressed with the style. There was a lot to take note of! There’s a large king-size bed, dining table for two, working desk, capsule coffee machine, closet, large balcony, and a bathroom. The room felt fresh and new. There was also a USB port near the bed and only European outlets. One thing that I would have liked to see would be included water bottles, luckily there is a water dispenser in the gym.
I really want to take the time to thank the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi staff for the lovely welcome gift and photo montage. How thoughtful! The beer was also tasty and the cashews were just what I needed for an afternoon snack.
The bathroom was also stylish and clean, and had a shower stall with a single sink vanity. I like that there were two robes and flip-flops to make getting around a bit more comfortable.
A major attraction of this property is the beautiful rooftop which includes the Buddha Spa Itaim Bibi, rooftop pool and lounge area, fitness center, and sauna. First of all, the spa was excellent, and you can read about my massage in more detail in a separate article here. Just like the hotel, the spa was a great experience and the massage was excellent (spoiler alert.)
Just as with the rest of the property, the pool was very stunning and a great place to spend time. Lots of unique seating and beautiful views in every direction. A great place to relax indeed!
The gym was extensive, with lots of modern equipment, it was all you need for a great workout. I was honestly impressed with how much they were able to pack into this space. There were always people in the gym during my stay but it never got super busy, which was nice.
The breakfast of the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi is located on the ground floor just next the lobby. As one would expect, the restaurant is incredibly stylish and modern. Not only did everything look beautiful, but the food was tasty as well. You could get several things made to order, including eggs, tapioca, and pancakes. The other buffet items were quite good as well and featured some local cuisine and Western items too. The service at breakfast was very pleasant and attentive. I really can’t get enough of the gorgeous design everywhere in the hotel!
From start to finish, I truly enjoyed my time at the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi. I was initially intrigued by the glorious design, but once I got there, I realized it was more than just beautiful to look at, It was great in quality as well. The property really does not miss a beat in any aspect of its offering. It’s got it all so I can easily recommend you to stay at the Grand Mercure Sao Paulo Itaim Bibi!
