Believe it or not, my first visit ever to a Hard Rock Cafe was in Penang, Malaysia. This chain of bars and restaurants are notorious for their live music, musical memorabilia and quality food. Hard Rock Cafes focus on classic American fare and after living in Asia for a while, it’s definitely nice to get a taste of the US now and again.

When you enter the Hard Rock Cafe Penang, you enter into a world of musical memorabilia! Lots of guitars on the walls, as well as clothing from famous musicians. We were sure to sit close to the stage to enjoy the live music after dinner! I like that the cafes are properly staffed so you’re never left waiting for long.

We actually ate at the restaurant twice during our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Penang, which you must read about in this article. Multiple visits meant I got to try a variety of dishes to really give the Hard Rock Cafe Penang’s menu a fair review. My favorite items included their barbecue combo platter, chicken wings and their steak. You can’t always find tangy buffalo wing sauce worldwide, but rest assured, you’ll find it at the Hard Rock Cafe!

Another feature of the restaurant I noticed was the fact that they offer a very large selection of alcoholic beverages. This can be great if you’re looking for something more peculiar!

Throughout the evening, we had great service and really enjoyable food. The band was fantastic, and I was very happy to enjoy them for the evening. We wound down with Oreo cheesecake which was quite dense. When it was all said and done, I had a fantastic evening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Penang, Malaysia and I’m sure you will too!
