This year I visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the third time. For this year’s adventure, I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur in a large suite. Recently renovated, this hotel left a strong impression on me, the property looks incredible. This magical experience all started at the Kuala Lumpur international airport.

Like the other fine hotels in the city, most of the best are located near the famous Petronas Towers. The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur supplied us with a well-coordinated airport transfer, which I’d recommend you to book. This took about 40 minutes with little traffic and streamlined the entire arrival process.

I loved the entire design of the property, especially The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur’s public areas. The lobby for example, had several different seating areas, all luxurious, a great first impression. Upon arrival, I received a refreshing welcome drink.

I was happy to finish the check in process and head up to the 17th floor to view my suite for the next three nights. Like my visit to The Ritz-Carlton in Vienna, The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur prepared a very nice welcome amenity including macarons, chocolate, fruit and of course a bottle of prosecco. The suite was spacious and included a large living room with desk and sofa, a massive bedroom that was partitioned in the middle, two large televisions and two bathrooms!

The master bathroom really had that wow factor! This bathroom was massive and was separated into four sections, bath tub, shower stall, vanity and separate toilet area.

The half-bathroom was located at the entrance of the suite and had a matching style.

Of course, the room was equipped with an espresso machine and tea facilities.

One of my favorite areas of The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur would have to be the gym, multiple pool and spa area, located on the fourth floor. Firstly, the gym was fantastic, with tons of updated equipment and great facilities. Working out there was a delight! After completion of a great daily workout, I would return to the changing rooms, which contained a steam room, sauna and large hot tub. In each of these areas, they offer refreshments like fruit and lemon water, these little touches made me feel warm and fuzzy.

There is one main pool for regular hotel guests and another pool that spa customers have exclusive access to.

The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur’s club lounge is located on the ground floor. The lounge offers all of the usual amenities including specialized daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapes. I must note that the staff at the lounge were excellent! Very personable and just lovely people to interact with. Everyday I enjoyed every bite of food inside of the lounge, and that’s saying a lot!

The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur’s main breakfast is located on the first floor, in The Cobalt Room. Looking at all the different types of food will make your head spin! Malaysian cuisine is diverse so you’ll be sure to find a great variety of Indian, Chinese, Western and local Malay cuisine. I especially loved the pickled items, which they have a plentiful amount of.

One of our days at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur we had a lunch at The Patisserie. There you’ll find a mid-sized lunch menu and also where you can buy fantastic sweets, located in the the front display case. For lunch, we ordered a salad, spaghetti Bolognese and a wagyu beef burger. The burger was incredible! The burger was topped with beef bacon (pork bacon is not common in Malaysia) and onion rings. Everything on this burger fit together perfectly and the meat was super juicy. Highly recommended!

Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t help but order a few desserts and sat to enjoy the live music from the afternoon tea. You must read about the afternoon tea experience in a this article. A glorious afternoon indeed!

Along with The Patisserie and The Cobalt Room, The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur offers a Chinese restaurant named Li Yen and a fine dining restaurant called The Library. I was sure to have a meal at each, read about Li Yen here and The Library here.

When it was all said and done, I was very sad to leave this flawless property. Not only was the entire offering perfect, but the staff really went the extra mile to offer a very warm and personal touch to the whole experience. Thus far, the Ritz-Carlton in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is my favorite in the city and I would be very happy to recommend you to visit on your next trip to this great city!
