At the end of the day, I have grown accustomed to a certain level of quality. That’s why I was so excited to visit the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, Greece. The hotel is a member of the Luxury Collection by SPG. The property is located on the Syntagma square in the middle of Athens. This is the absolute best location for a hotel to be in the city, in the middle of everything!

When you enter the front door, you’ll enter into a large and luxurious lobby. Most likely you’ll hear classical music being played and greeted by friendly staff. I was eager to get through the check in process to explore the rest of the property.
Opening the door to my room was a delight. There were gorgeous ceiling to floor curtains with an elegant looking bed. The bedding was of course, very comfortable. There were two chandeliers in my room!
The bathroom was equipped with nothing less than marble everything. There was of course a shower stall and a separate bathtub. Lots of space to move around in this bathroom.
My room even had a great view of the Greek Parliament.
One of my favorite parts of this property would have to be the hotel’s spa and fitness center. Located in the basement, they have a very large spa equipped with tons of relaxation space, multiple steam rooms and of course a sauna. This is also the floor where you’ll also find the gym and pool. I worked out several times throughout my stay and relaxed afterwards in the steam rooms. It was an underground oasis!
The hotel staff were great and they left me a wonderful welcome gift. The macarons and a bottle of wine made Pierre content. Thank you Grande Bretagne!
I also had a dinner at their GB Garden Rooftop restaurant, which you will be sure to read about in a separate article. The hotel’s location creates an absolutely stunning view from the dining room. The buffet breakfast has tons of options, surely making your morning very happy! Once you gather your food and of course order your Greek coffee, you can sit down to take in this magnificent and breathtaking view. On one side, you have the Greek Parliament and on the other, you have the Acropolis, which stands out gorgeously in the distance. I didn’t even bother to look at my phone, I just sat and took in this extraordinary view and ate the wonderful food.
Staying at the Hotel Grande Bretagne was a treat indeed. My stay was absolutely flawless. The food, location, service and the facilities were above and beyond. Without a doubt I can highly recommend you to stay at the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, Greece!
