I was getting a bit stir crazy in China, so I decided to take a trip back to my neck of the woods, Southeast Asia. First stop was Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I had an incredibly delayed flight but arrived at the Intercontinental Saigon around midnight. It was actually quite easy to grab an Uber at the airport and get to the hotel for about $4 USD!

I quickly discovered that the hotel was right in the center of the action! It’s within walking distance to many popular attractions which makes it very convenient. After checking in, it was up to explore my room for the night. The room was large with lots of seating and relaxed lighting. The hotel definitely had the classic Intercontinental feel.
As you can imagine, I was tired so it was quickly off to sleep and then wake up and hit the gym. The gym overlooks the pool which was a great view for my run. Overall, a great gym and phenomenal pool with a window on the side, I really enjoyed them. Afterwards, I hit their changing room to discover a lovely steam room and sauna. The staff had put some herbs in with the steam which really helped to open me up! I love a good steam.
I had club access at the Intercontinental Saigon so I enjoyed my breakfast on the 19th floor. The selection of food was great and included Asian and Western dishes. I actually got to have my first bowl of Pho while in Vietnam while at the lounge. Everything I ate for breakfast was quite tasty. I definitely enjoyed it with a Vietnamese coffee!
I did have a chance to enjoy a lunch at their Yuchu Cantonese restaurant on the second floor. Since I wasn’t super hungry I just ordered a few dim sum plates to try and all were lovely. The item that really blew me away was the mango soup dessert with fruit. This is pretty standard Asian dessert but the taste was exquisite! I would highly recommend the mango soup.
My stay at the Intercontinental Saigon was short but sweet. The room was comfortable, the gym lovely and what I really want to point out were the lovely staff. Every single person I encountered at the hotel was incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for great accommodation while in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, I would highly recommend the Intercontinental Saigon!
