I have to say that since I’m coming from America, I consider myself quite a southern comfort food expert. This is why I was very excited to try The Bird in Singapore. They have locations in Miami Beach, Las Vegas, Singapore and soon in Beverly Hills.
The location offers a lovely atmosphere, on the water’s edge at the Marina Bay Sands.
I started the meal off with an Old Fashioned cocktail which really tasted great. The perfect amount of all ingredients made Pierre a very happy camper.
The Bird had few items that were bestsellers that I had to try, the first was the fried green tomato BLT. I must admit that this was one of my favorite items of the evening. The fried green tomato is on the bottom, next comes the sauce then comes the house smoked pork belly and greens on the top. This is a truly special item and a flavor explosion that was great way to get that meal started.
The next items that they were known for would be the chicken and waffles. Along with these I went for an order of short ribs. Out of the two would have to say the chicken waffles was my first choice. Both were accompanied with a side of macaroni and cheese which had the proper amount of cheesiness to satisfy me.
To finish off the meal I went with the peach cobbler which came with a very unique presentation. Good but nothing that blew me away.
Overall, the meal at The Bird restaurant in Singapore was good. The service, the décor and overall quality of the food was quite nice. At the end the day I enjoyed my evening at The Bird in Singapore.
