As soon as I walked through the doors of the Grecotel hotel in Athens, I fell in love. Honestly, it made me wonder why I don’t visit more luxury boutique hotels!

The Grecotel is stunning straightaway in the lobby. I love the white color scheme with all of the art.
I approached the reception on the right and checked in. My excitement was building and I couldn’t wait to see my room! I was lucky enough to secure a suite on the second floor, with a private terrace. The suite was incredibly large, and had many features to take note of.
First and foremost, no one can ignore the pig in the room. This is not a joke, there was a giant yellow pig next to the bed. I loved it, and quite fitting for me! Another feature that I really liked, was the fact that there are two full-sized bathrooms, both with full bathtubs and showers. You can have two baths, simultaneously. Boss life!
It’s been a hit or miss with coffee machines lately, but lucky for me, the Grecotel definitely has a great one. They’re quick to refill the coffee capsules and make sure you get your caffeine fix. The way the marble goes with the yellow accents was flawless. The terrace had a great view of the square below, and even though I’m in the center of the city, it was quite peaceful in the room. Also, thank you for the delicious welcome gift of local Greek food!
As I stated before, the art doesn’t stop in this hotel! I was able to take a quick tour of the other rooms. No two rooms are alike! They all have very unique artwork and you can choose the room you like best. When you’re feeling creative, this is definitely the place to be in Athens.
In the basement, there is the fitness area. I was told that this gym will be undergoing a update very shortly. At the time of my visit, there were three pieces of cardio equipment and free weights. This was enough for me, but maybe not for others.
The Grecotel’s restaurant is located on the first floor. I was able to have both a dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. Just like the rest of the hotel, there was lots of artwork throughout the dining room. I loved the setting and feeling change from daytime to nighttime. For dinner, I would recommend taking note of how good the goat cheese was, as well as ordering the prawn salad or the lobster ravioli! Overall, a beautiful setting indeed.
The next morning, I returned to this gorgeous dining room for breakfast. This breakfast buffet was quite impressive! They have all types of western dishes as well as a corner for items from Crete exclusively. The Crete corner had the things that I liked the most. Lots of olives, tomatoes and of course, cheese. Breakfast was fantastic!
This hotel’s location is really convenient. It just moments away from the Omonia metro station, as well as only a 10 minute walk away from the major attractions of Athens. It’s definitely in the center of the action. This luxury boutique art hotel is a nice little getaway in the center of the madness. The property incorporates lots of artwork and gorgeous designs throughout. The service was always on point and much better than I would have expected. I also really loved the food at breakfast! All in all, I had a great stay at the Pallas Athena Grecotel Boutique hotel in the center of Athens, Greece and I highly recommend it!
