On the top of the Park Hyatt in Bangkok, there is the Penthouse bar and grill. When steak and alcohol are involved, I am usually quite excited!
My evening started at their gorgeously designed bar and moved to the dining room. I started with an old-fashioned to get the ball rolling. It contained the perfect amounts of all ingredients and left me excited to continue the evening.
For dinner, we went with a shrimp cocktail, onion soup, bone marrow, macaroni and cheese and of course a steak. Lots of people have different preference when it comes to steak but I personally believe that Japanese meat is the best. This is why I decided to go with the 180g Matsunaga A3 Wagyu striploin. This was definitely a fantastic choice and came accompanied with French fries and béarnaise sauce. I paired the steak with a 2015 The Hedonist Shiraz. By far, my favorite part of the meal was the steak!
Finishing off the evening was an Irish coffee dessert. A great way to finish the meal but little did I know the evening was not over!
We then moved to a somewhat secret whiskey room on the same floor. The whiskey room is very low-key and provides a very intimate space to enjoy a nice night cap before slipping off to dreamland. I really enjoyed my glass of 12 Year Glengoyne single malt scotch whiskey.
I must say that Pierre is most happy with a nice steak and a glass of red wine. I was not disappointed in the slightest with my evening. Actually quite the contrary, I enjoyed myself immensely. Considering all parts of the restaurant and bar, I would recommend you to visit the Penthouse Bar and Grill at the top of the Park Hyatt in Bangkok, Thailand.
