I will always and forever have a very happy place in my heart for Thailand. Most of you know that I lived in Bangkok for three years of my life. Ever since I moved away, I can’t help but return every year. This year I kicked off my trip with a visit to the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel.

My stay started with a luxury car pickup from the airport! It’s hard to miss this property located at Asoke BTS station and the Sukhumvit MRT station. To inform you, this is the absolute center of Bangkok. It’s close to all of my favorite areas, and an ideal place to stay while you visit. When you first enter the hotel, you’ll come into a very grand lobby. Tall ceilings and helpful staff everywhere to help you on your way.
I was immediately whisked up to the 10th floor to view my suite, which was one of only a handful of specialty suites at the property! Opening the door to my suite brought me into a world of Thai culture. It was gorgeous. Wooden accents, patterns and Thai artwork throughout made this an absolutely breathtaking room. It’s important to mention that this is not the design of all of the rooms. Most of the rooms are more of a business style, but beautiful nonetheless.
First and foremost, let’s discuss the gorgeous seating area in the living room. There are both pillows on the floor or a Thai influenced sofa to rest upon. From there you can easily move into the bedroom area which is separated by a TV on a swivel. The TV is encased in a lovely patterned wooden case. The bed in this room was incredible. I love the headboard and the lighting, it all went together so well. I got a few great nights sleep at this property. I also must mention the large welcome gift as well as coffee machine near the entryway.
The bathroom was out of control! Inside I found a shower stall and hot tub. The bathroom was so massive and it even had it’s own TV.
My “Rama” suite also had it’s own private garden and hot tub! This is one floor above the hotel’s main pool. However, it’s important to note that my garden was completely private. There was a substantial canopy of vegetation that insured I was completely hidden! What a great place to relax after Bangkok exploration.
I was incredibly excited that the staff at the Sheraton went above and beyond and organized a full city tour during my visit. The concierge has put together some great recommendations that will give you a more authentic and unique experience! I would definitely insist you consult with them during your visit.
They had many great recommendations but my favorite were Wat Saket and their lunch restaurant recommendation!
Back at the hotel, it’s important to point out that the property features 6 food and beverage outlets! This is a real mammoth of a hotel. There is a Thai restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a street level bar and several other venues to eat and drink through. I had such a fantastic dinner at their Italian restaurant called Rossini’s, that I went ahead and wrote a separate article. Don’t forget about their amazing poolside restaurant called The Sala which serves up both great Western and Asian dishes.
The hotel offers breakfast in multiple locations including Rossini’s, Orchid Cafe and The Sala. Rossini’s features an a la carte breakfast menu and buffet. The food here was lovely and had a very wide selection of items available for your choosing. The Orchid Cafe also is where you can find a large breakfast buffet.
Not only did this property have lovely food, it also had great spa, pool and gym facilities. During my stay, I made it a point to hit the gym as well as enjoy a massage. The fitness center has all the equipment you could ever want, and a fantastic changing room with a very impressive hot tub, steam room and sauna.
The pool at this property is something impressive! I have never seen a hotel pool in a city that is modeled quite like this. It gives the feeling that you’re at a resort but you’re actually in the middle of Bangkok!
For my evening massage, I went for an oil massage. Overall, it was a very soothing experience and so relaxing that I fell asleep!
Even before I visited this property, I had very high hopes because of the luxury appearance. The property has so much to offer, whether it’s the facilities, incredible staff, food, drinks, location or style. The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit hotel definitely made my top list of hotels in the city and I would highly recommend you to stay there as soon as possible! You will NOT be disappointed.
