Over the years that had I lived in Bangkok, there were a handful of hotels that I would keep hearing about. One of these famous hotels was The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok. The Athenee Hotel is just a couple hundred meters from the Phloen Chit BTS station. This is a sprawling property equipped with a handful of food and beverage outlets, 28 meeting spaces and 374 guestrooms.

When you walk in your jaw might hit the floor like mine did. The lobby of The Athenee Hotel is impressive to say the least. Fresh flower arrangements accented the beautiful architecture and furniture. I first approached the reception desk on the left side of the lobby but then was informed I needed to head up to the Club Lounge on the 26th floor to complete the check-in process. After checking in I went down seven floors to the 19th floor to view my Athenee Suite.
From the entryway, you’ll step into the very spacious living room. The living room was very comfortable and had splendid views of the surrounding area. I loved the red, white and grey colors used in this interior design. The Victorian style patterns that were framed on the walls gave The Athenee Suite a strong sense of class. There was also a great view of the city!
The bedroom was equally as luxurious and had a long sofa along the window window. Everything fit perfectly together.
The bathroom was equally impressive, covered in marble. There is a large bathtub, shower stall and an electronic toilet. There was also a small second bathroom located at the entryway of The Athenee Suite.
The Club Lounge on the 26th floor is where I spent most of my time. The Club Lounge offers breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The space is very expansive and has several rooms with lots of seating. I found the staff to be warm and friendly. I was very impressed with the evening food and cocktail options. In contrary, the selection for breakfast and afternoon tea were more limited.
I would recommend you to eat breakfast on the ground floor at the Rain Tree Café. This looks out over Wireless Road and has an absolutely incredible selection of food. Some of the cuisines available include Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, French and more! The dining room was elegant and comfortable to match the rest of the property. A must visit.
The rooftop pool can be found on the fourth floor along with the changing rooms, fitness center and bar. The pool is incredibly magical. It’s hard to beat the view of the ever-expanding Bangkok skyline while relaxing at the pool.
This fitness center was fairly busy throughout my stay, but there is enough equipment for everyone. After a great workout in the gym, I headed into this changing rooms to use their steam room and sauna daily.
During my visit I had a dinner at their famous Reflexions French Restaurant. The food was incredible and you can read more about it in a separate article.
The housekeepers did a fantastic job and worked incredibly quick and efficiently. I was really impressed on our check-out day when the made up the room when we were at the gym. This is a true mark of top of the line service.
The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand has so much to offer! I think I did a pretty good job at experiencing most of its offering, but probably should return to try what I missed. My recommendations would be to enjoy a buffet at Rain Tree Cafe, evening cocktails in the Club Lounge, dinner at Reflexions and to relax by the pool. I definitely look forward to returning soon!
