The Paul Hotel Review: Classic Luxury and More in Bangalore

Last updated on January 30th, 2025

After visiting Kolkata in the north, it was quite a relief to find that the weather in Bangalore was much cooler and drier, making it a very comfortable place to stay be. While in Bangalore, I stayed at The Paul Hotel. The Paul is only a 20 minute drive from the center of the city, and set in a fairly quiet area. Next to the property, there are both residential areas and tech giants. Bangalore really is the Silicon Valley of India!

The first feature of the property that I noticed, was the spacious atrium in the heart of the property. This large open area is very well ventilated, making it comfortable throughout the stay. Even while wearing a suit, as I normally do, I felt great in this area. The atrium holds the Sidewalk Cafe & Bar, reception and concierge desk.

I checked in at The Paul reception, received a welcome drink and then I went up to the third floor to view my massive two bedroom suite! I’ve stayed in a lot of large suites in my days, but this was right up there with the largest of them. There were two full bedrooms, two full bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, living room and an additional half bathroom. Spacious to say the least.

The bathrooms were both equipped with partitioned showers, quality toiletries and many nice flower designs.

The suite also featured multiple balconies. One had lounge chairs and made a great place to sit. The birds chirping along with the cool breeze made this a magical setting. One of the days there, I sat on the balcony, sipping tea, while watching a storm roll in. Beautiful.

On the ground floor of The Paul there is the fitness center, covered pool, changing rooms with both steam room and sauna. All of the fitness center’s numerous workout machines weres very high in quality. Every type of weightlifting machine and size of free-weight were there, great for fitness buffs. All of the equipment was quite new, except a couple treadmills could be updated.

The pool was just next to the fitness center, and had a roof.

The Paul Hotel Bangalore has several food and beverage outlets. Along with the Sidewalk Cafe in the atrium, they have Murphy’s Brewhouse, Masala Dani and Vembanad. A unique offering is that The Paul brews 4 types of beer on-site, which they serve in all their dining outlets. During our stay, we had the pleasure of trying all of the restaurants! My favorite restaurants included Vembanad, Masala Dani and Murphy’s Brewhouse. Be sure to read about Vembanad in a separate article!

The Murphy’s Brewhouse offers both great quality food as well as tasty drinks. I must say that all of the dishes I had at Murphy’s were quite enjoyable. Some of my favorites included the fish and chips, meat lovers pizza, nachos and the chili and lime prawns. My favorite of their four home-brewed beers was their Holy Sally, which is a Belgian wheat beer that reminded me of Hoegaarden. Refreshing and flavorful!

The Paul staff gave us a quick tour of the beer brewing facility which I found quite interesting. Their brew-master is constantly working on perfecting existing beers and creating new ones! I definitely want to try making my own beer in the future also.

At the Sidewalk Cafe, you can enjoy The Paul’s breakfast buffet. This is also their all-day dining restaurant, offering an a la carte menu and buffet, with cuisines from all around the world. Their menu was absolutely impressive with so many options, from so many different regions. Some of the most well represented areas were Indian, Western, Southeast Asian and Chinese cuisines.

The breakfast buffet focused on Indian dishes, as one would assume. It is also possible to order several items a la carte, including Indian and Western dishes. The service during breakfast was very good, and the open-air environment made it very comfortable.

When it was time to depart, we were sure to book The Paul’s transfer service. It made getting to the airport a breeze and I would suggest you book it as well.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the classically luxurious Paul Hotel in Bangalore, India. What really stood out to me was the quality of service, and the food and beverage outlets. So much delicious food and drink! From a function standpoint, the hotel’s design works very well, my only qualm is that the design is a bit dated. The location made The Paul Bangalore Hotel very convenient starting point to get around the city. The staff made our experience extra special because they’re all very personable and genuinely care about their guests. I would definitely come back for another stay at The Paul Bangalore!
