For a few years, The Sukhothai Hotel has been high on my priority list in Bangkok, Thailand. This year, I finally had an opportunity to pay this well-known hotel a visit along with its restaurants and spa. The Sukhothai Hotel is located on Sathorn Road, in the financial district of Bangkok. It’s comprised of several buildings with lots of water features and greenery. This compound makes you feel relaxed and connected with nature.

We were greeted in mid-afternoon at The Sukhothai’s beautiful lobby and then checked into our room that was located on the third-floor, overlooking the courtyard below.
This spacious room had a lounge chair, sizable desk, quality coffee machine and spacious bathroom. The bathroom featured a bathtub, shower stall and electronic toilet. Luxurious indeed.
I definitely appreciated the quality coffee and tea in the room. Also, I was delighted to receive the lovely welcome amenity of chocolates, and later during turn-down service, the local Thai candies!
It was great to wander around this expansive property, I even got a couple drone shots along the way! The Sukhothai Hotel offers a gargantuan pool. If you’re looking for a great tanning spot, this is the place. The property features lots of traditional Thai artwork as well, offering a strong sense of Thai culture.
The hotel’s fitness center was under renovation but they had a temporary one setup that had everything I needed, even a sauna!
The part of the property that really blew me away was the hotel’s incredible food. You’ll find the breakfast dining room near the hotel’s main lobby, on the ground floor. I found everything I enjoyed eating at this incredible breakfast. Not only did I find everything I wanted, the flavor of all the items I ate were perfect. They had a large selection of everything you could possibly desire. I especially enjoyed a bowl of egg noodles with seafood.
Be sure to also read about Celadon and La Scala in separate articles which are their Thai and Italian restaurants.
Also, if you’re looking for an impeccable spa, read about The Sukhothai’s Spa Botanica here.
The Sukhothai offers a strong sense of luxury, quality and Thai culture. The service was spectacular whether it was the turn-down service, the daily fresh fruit, or that we were always greeted with a smile. This property can suit the desires of both guests who love boutique hotels or large luxury brand names. For all these reasons and more, The Sukhothai Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand is high on my list for the city’s best accommodations!
