For those of you who have visited many hotels like me, you’ll know that the W Hotel brand has a very unique style. I’ve been to multiple properties and have seen a pattern. They often offer in your face type designs accompanied with luxury hotel service and amenities. My most recent W Hotel stay was in Bangkok, Thailand.

The W Hotel in Bangkok, is located in the financial district known as Sathorn. It’s just about a five minute walk away from the skytrain station, Chong Nonsi. There is tons to do in this area and it’s also easy to explore the rest of what Bangkok has to offer from this location.
I arrived in the middle of the afternoon on a beautiful day. After meeting some wonderful staff, I headed up to the room to see what I was working with. My first time in a W Hotel I was little shocked with how intense the design was, but this time I was mentally prepared. I knew it would be more of a show than anything else. The first thing you notice while walking into the room are the giant set of boxing gloves on the bed. I appreciated the open layout of the room. This makes the room feel a lot bigger.
In the bathroom area, they offer a giant bathtub so you can get your cleanliness in-check. The room also offers tea and coffee tucked in one of the cupboards which at first I had difficulty finding. Once I found it, I was a very happy Pierre.
We need to just jump into something that I found extraordinary. Not often do things strike me this strongly but this was magnificent. What I’m talking about is the most extensive breakfast buffet I have ever seen! They offer Middle Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and many western dishes. I’m sure you’re thinking that that is quite standard these days but they took it to a new level. They don’t just offer these different cuisines in a mediocre way, they offer a plethora of high-quality options for each. For example, the sushi was not some boring cucumber rolled up with rice. It was a tuna maki roll complete with all of the fixings. I was in heaven, seriously. Well done W Bangkok!
Another beautiful feature of the hotel would have to be their gym, spa and pool area. Not only were the facilities great, with good equipment and a beautifully designed pool but they had an excellent view to offer. From your workout you can look down to the most beautifully designed walking bridge in the entire city. Once you’re done with your pool or gym session you can cruise on over to their wonderful spa and get a treatment or use the steam room or sauna.
The hotel also offers plenty of other beautifully designed areas for your use. What really stuck out in my mind was the breakfast. The W Hotel design is in your face as I said earlier and you have to personally like it to really enjoy the property. I have to admit that it’s really growing on me. This design accompanied with the amazing service make this a really amazing property. I’m certain that if this matches your style, you’ll have a fantastic time at the W Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand!
