Over my years of luxury travel writing, the Singaporean brand Ascott is one that I’ve come to know and love. If you’re unfamiliar, Ascott is a brand of luxury serviced apartments that focus on extended stays and offer the services and facilities of a 5 star hotel. In the past I have covered some of their properties in Japan and the Philippines, now it was time to check out the Somerset Maslak in Istanbul, Turkey!

Somerset Maslak Istanbul Serviced Apartment is located in Maslak which is a modern satellite city of Istanbul. This is a newer development which is very modern, it’s one of the main business districts of Sarıyer, located on the European side of the city. Somerset is part of a community called 1453 which has loads of shops, restaurants, cafés, and more just at your doorstep. The Somerset Maslak is basically a home away from home, with everything you need for an extended stay, and more.
The lobby of the Somerset Maslak is actually on the seventh floor of the property and had a lovely common area with balcony. During normal times, this is where the breakfast would also be served.
My Three-Bedroom Penthouse Apartment was located on the 26th floor. which is the top of the building. Initially I was expecting to receive a studio apartment, but was surprised when I was majorly upgraded, thank you Somerset Maslak! Upon opening the door, I stepped into the massive living room with joining dining area. There were very tall floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of the surrounding area and the massive balcony. The living room was equipped with loads of modern and elegant furniture, smart TV, electronic curtains, and bluetooth speaker system.
Just down the hallway from the living room was the fully equipped kitchen. This kitchen was incredibly spacious, modern, and had everything you would need to cook up a feast. I really appreciated all of the cutlery, dishwasher, oven, microwave, full-size refrigerator, and ample counter space for preparation. During my stay, the staff would clean daily and do all of the washing in the kitchen and rest of the apartment!
Across the hall from the kitchen is a very modern washing and drying laundry machine. I was super impressed that I could dry my gym clothes in just 10 minutes!
Farther down the hallway was one of the three bathrooms as well as one of the three bedrooms. All bedrooms are very large in size and feature lots of storage space, large smart television, beautiful decorum, and lots of natural light with the large windows. All rooms of the apartment had balcony access which was a huge plus. It’s great to get some fresh air! They also all have bathrooms next to them or connected to them.
To get upstairs there is a beautiful spiral staircase. Upstairs there was second bedroom and bathroom, master bedroom, and master bathroom. The master bedroom has a large interior window to view the living room below, huge king-size bed, working desk with chair, beautiful light fixtures, and an overall elegant and beautiful ambience.
The master bathroom was simply glorious. Inside there was a large jacuzzi, shower stall, dual-sink vanity, and really high-quality toiletries that were refreshed daily. This was truly feeling like home, especially after staying for a week.
Let’s talk a bit more about my balcony at the Somerset Maslak. If my memory serves me correctly, it was 150 m² and offers some of the most spectacular sunset views I’ve seen! Beautiful. There was a large table with 6 chairs as well as a lounge area with chairs and coffee table. A serious feature for this property! Don’t worry, all the rooms have varying sized balconies too!
I want to thank the team at Somerset Maslak for the lovely gifts during my stay!
On the first floor of the Somerset Maslak are the fitness center and outdoor pool. The fitness center is on the medium side with a decent amount of cardio equipment and free weights to keep most satisfied. As I was visiting during the pandemic, there were rules about how many people could enter at one time. The pool was unfortunately closed during my stay but noticed it was sizeable nonetheless.
During my stay, all my breakfasts were served in my room which was a nice feature! Each day the breakfast was very tasty delivered precisely at the time I requested. I was very impressed by the punctuality.
If you appreciate the finer things in life, then you will love the Somerset Maslak in Istanbul, Turkey! The property gives guests the ability to enjoy extended stays in fully equipped luxury apartments along with the same service you’d expect at any other 5 star hotel. The staff were very punctual, courteous, and polite throughout the entire stay. If you’re interested in staying for an extended period in Maslak, Istanbul look no further than the Somerset!
