Tokyo is fantastic for visitors for many reasons, one is that it’s stocked full of high-end accommodation options. On my latest Tokyo trip, I paid a visit to the lovely Ascott Marunouchi Hotel and Service Apartment just next to Tokyo Station. I’ve seen this property advertised as both a service apartment and five-star hotel, it is indeed both!

I checked in smoothly and met with the Ascott Marunouchi team at the 22nd floor lobby. Soon after a very warm welcome it was up to the 29th floor to see my One Bedroom Premier Suite. I was truly impressed by the vastness of the 91 sqm suite. It was actually more like a two bedroom suite because it had a Japanese-style tatami room in addition to the Western-style bedroom. I found the suite’s entire layout to be very appealing and comfortable, just like home. I really appreciated the massive desk and office chair for getting my work done!
The view of the Imperial Palace Gardens was exquisite, both day and night.
The suite had a very well equipped kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, clothes washer, oven, stove, coffee machine, electric kettle, cutlery and more. I could really see myself living there for an extended period!
This One Bedroom Premier Suite had two full bathrooms. One was located near the entryway, the second was the master bathroom connected to the bedroom. Both are quite comfortable and equipped with the highest quality fixtures. Elegant in design and very comfortable indeed.
Back down on the 22nd floor of the Ascott Marunouchi there were some notable facilities including the spacious gym, beautiful pool with a glass wall, and the Triple One all day dining restaurant. The gym had lots of high-end equipment and was generally quiet during my stay. It had almost everything, but there was no steam room or sauna.
The breakfast turned out to be very impressive! I was pleased to find out that they had a chef from Singapore. If you didn’t know, I’m a huge Singaporean food fan and thus was super excited when I saw Laksa! Guests can order eggs à la carte and also graze at the extensive buffet. Overall, the food and service was superb at breakfast!
When looking for extended accommodation options in Tokyo, there are many options to choose from. However, after experiencing Ascott Marunouchi first-hand, it jumped high on my list for a long-term stay in Tokyo. I found very little fault in the property, it was nearly flawless. Without a doubt I can easily recommend you to stay at the Ascott Marunouchi in Tokyo, Japan!
