I started my blog six years ago and about a year after starting it, I made one of my earlier luxury hotel reviews which was of the Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas. From that early experience in Istanbul, all I have is fond memories. If you’re interested in reading the article from 2015, click here. Now almost exactly 5 years later and I was back in Istanbul and revisiting the glorious and very memorable Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas.

Location
The Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas is located in Nişantaşı. Nişantaşı is an upscale area with lots of conveniences just a stones throw away from the hotel. Some of these conveniences include a high street with international and local brands, loads of fine restaurants, countless cafés and bars, and the incredible Maçka Parkı.
Arrival
The front entrance of the hotel is a bit ambiguous. To be honest, if one was just driving by, they might not even notice that it’s a hotel. However, once inside the lobby, the space really opens up. The staff at the reception counter were pleasant as always and checked me in smoothly. Lucky for me, some of the staff members that were there five years ago still remembered me! How heartwarming. Generally, I feel that staff with good memory usually dictates great service.
Room
After the smooth check-in, I made my way up to my 1 King Deluxe room on the 7th floor. The design of the room is truly timeless and just as I remembered it! First, let’s take note of the massive king-size bed which was a bit on the firmer side with with a very soft topper. This is actually what I prefer, and I slept great! Throughout the room, including next to the bed, there were very extensive light and curtain controls controls. Perfect for when you want to set the mood!
The room featured a comfortable working desk and lounge area along with a massive television. This room even has its own bar that includes the minibar and a coffee station. This wasn’t completely stocked during my stay due to the pandemic but could be if requested.
Thanks to the Park Hyatt team for all of the lovely chocolates, fruit, bottle of wine, and Turkish delights!
This 1 King Deluxe room also had a small balcony with a pool view.
Bathroom
I need you to brace yourself for this next news! Inside the bathroom there was basically a private spa equipped with large bath tub, shower, television, and private steam room! I’ve visited hundreds of luxury hotels and this is still one of the only ones that had a private steam room. Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas uses Aromatherapy Associates Toiletries. Love the fragrances!
There’s a double sink vanity in the bathroom but one sink is not the same as the other. That is because one dispenses purified water which is great for me because I really hate to waste plastic bottles and so does the Park Hyatt! There is a separated toilet, bidet, and another sink on the other side of the bathroom too.
Facilities
The rooftop pool is located above the lobby and next to the Nusr-Et Restaurant. This gorgeous pool is long enough for swimming laps. Unfortunately, it was too cold during my stay to take a dip, but it sure did look inviting!
In the b1 level there’s a medium-size fitness center that I remember well from my last visit. This is because my life is a constant struggle of consuming a lot of calories, then working them off in the gym! The fitness center is equipped with enough modern equipment for most people and was fairly quiet throughout my stay.
Food and Drink
What you’ve may have heard is true the hotel is now owned by the famous Nusret Gökçe, also known as #SaltBae. Recently, his latest Nusr-Et Restaurant has opened just next to the rooftop pool. I was excited to visit for a dinner to see if the meal and experience would live up to the internet hype. To be honest, I had a great experience and wrote a separate article about it here.
The breakfast also occurs in the Nusr-Et Restaurant. No matter what time of day it is, the dining room shines. I quickly fell in love with the elegant and bright interior. The breakfast was setup à la carte for my visit. The menu had both Turkish and Western favorites prepared fresh, and even included pork bacon! This is hard to find in Muslim countries. Not only did everything look incredible, it all tasted delicious. This matched with great service truly made this a memorable and enjoyable place to eat.
COVID Procedures
The Park Hyatt Istanbul did a fantastic job of taking extra precautions in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus. I noticed glass at the reception counter, a special procedure of leaving the food at the door during room service delivery, and ample social distancing at breakfast. Pierre approves!
Conclusion
I loved my second stay at the Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas. The property is beautiful inside and out and because it’s so stylish, feels like a boutique hotel. Consistency is another sign of quality and the Park Hyatt has it! The beautiful design paired with top-notch Park Hyatt service make this property a top contender for best hotel in Istanbul. As I mentioned I was a bit skeptical of the new restaurant at first, but ultimately was impressed that it was so good! When it’s all said and done, the Park Hyatt Istanbul Macka Palas is incredible and I can highly recommend it to all.
