Four Seasons is a hotel brand that I’ve always been very fond of throughout all my years as a travel writer. I have stayed at Four Seasons properties all around the globe including Four Seasons Toronto, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, Four Seasons Seoul, Four Seasons Istanbul At The Bosphorus, and Four Seasons Mexico City. These are consistently amazing luxury hotels with top service and beautiful style, features they all have in common. You can imagine my excitement when I learned years ago that they were building a new Four Seasons on the Chao Praya River in Bangkok, Thailand. I mentally added it to my list of hotels to review and then just as Thailand began opening up after the pandemic lockdowns, I was able to finally visit and review it. During my visit, the hotel had only been opened for about a year prior.

Location
Four Seasons Bangkok sits right on the incredibly famous Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, just slightly south of the Taksin Bridge, a major travel hub of the city. The hotel offers a free shuttle boat to Icon Siam which is a large shopping mall nearby. There is a BTS sky train station at Taksin Bridge as well as a public boat pier. From here it’s possible to connect to almost any part of the city conveniently.
Architecture
From a distance, the buildings have a very minimalistic design, not giving away too many hints about what’s inside them. However, once you get closer and inspect the grounds, you’ll find that they are exquisite. I was told that the purpose of the design was to bring the river into the hotel so to speak. This explains all the water features and pools!
Lobby
I arrived early in the afternoon and entered the large lobby. The Four Seasons Bangkok has a very grand and modern entrance and lobby. It feels more like you’re walking into a modern art museum than a hotel. Everything inside felt larger-than-life. The lobby has a sort of outdoor garden in the center which I found very beautiful. Early in the afternoon I rolled up to the futuristic reception counter and spoke with the pleasant staff to get checked-in.
Premier River-View Room
My Premier River-View Room turned out to be on the seventh floor, overlooking the Chao Praya River. I noticed that the grand themes of the lobby continued into the guest rooms as well. The first feature that captured my attention was the massive floor-to-ceiling window facing the river. Perfect for pictures! Next to this large window were conveniently placed daybed and sofa. A few times during my stay I really enjoyed sitting on these and watching the boats pass by. As the property was brand-new, it was equipped with the most modern technology. All in all, it was a very cohesive, modern, and comfortable design in almost every regard.
The bedding at Four Seasons Hotels never disappoints. Their signature massive square pillows with Four Seasons logo were super fluffy and comfortable as usual! I always love these beds.
There were several other notable features to pay attention to. First, I like the fact that they use glass bottles for water, nearly exclusively across the property. Even in the gym, I mentioned that I didn’t like wasting plastic and the staff went above and beyond to find me a glass bottle of water. Now that’s service! Secondly, the minibar of this room was just gorgeous and included a complimentary premium green tea which was in addition to the standard tea bags. Thirdly, there was a Bose Bluetooth speaker which sounded great. These little touches definitely let you know you were in a premium luxury hotel.
I’d like to thank Four Seasons Bangkok staff for the welcome amenity which looked good and tasted delicious as well.
Bathroom
The bathroom of the Premier River-View Room was separated from the bedroom by massive sliding doors that offered a way to enjoy some privacy if needed. The bathroom contains a stand-alone bathtub, dual-sink vanity, shower stall, and toilet stall. All were beautiful to look at and use.
I was quickly reminded that the Four Seasons always uses high quality toiletries. Specifically I was so happy with the full-bottles of shaving cream and high-quality razor that were provided.
Pools and Fitness
The photos do the pools better justice than whatever I can write. As you can see there are several around the property, all glorious. The ones along the riverside are of various depths and more for relaxing. There is a lap-pool just outside the gym meant for fitness.
The fitness center and lap pool are located a level up from the lobby and on the opposite end of the property from the riverside. The gym was equipped with wait for… drumroll… absolutely everything anyone could ask for in a fitness center. Not only did they have all the cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and more, they also have great personal trainers. During my second day workout, a personal trainer named Boy offered me a free personal training session. I was very impressed with the workout and it made me strongly consider getting a personal trainer of my own.
Breakfast
Breakfast takes place in the Riva Del Fiume restaurant which has views of both the pools and the river. The dining room and outdoor seating are all elegant and once again, great for photos. As you would expect, breakfast was massive and had tons of options. Guests can order dishes both al a carte as well as enjoy the extensive buffet.
Like the fitness center, there was everything I could ask for and more! The quality of the food and the service during breakfast were great as well. Fantastic!
Conclusion
I stayed at the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River for two nights in total. My main takeaways are similar to that of other Four Seasons branded properties which included a high sense of quality in all aspects, great food, a beautiful design, and solid service. Unfortunately, the property was so new that the spa had not yet been finished. Hopefully, I can return one day to experience it! The service was overall great, but I noticed, not all of the employees were as warm as the others. Perhaps this was by design to give guests more privacy but I am not 100% certain. Regardless, I truly enjoyed myself during the stay and can easily recommend a stay at the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River!
