For years I have heard about the famous Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. I always wanted to visit but never had the opportunity, until now! The property first opened its doors 12 years ago and is still running strong. Previously, I’ve had great experiences at other Kempinski hotels including Grand Hotel Kempinski Vilnius and Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna. Now, I was thrilled because I was finally back in Thailand after being away since mid 2019, and also getting to experience such a landmark property!

Location
One of the top features of the Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand is the fact that it is right in the center of the city. It’s actually attached to Siam Paragon which is one of the most famous malls in the world. Whether you’re interested in shopping or not, Siam is an area with tons of convenience. It’s a great jump-off point for traveling anywhere in the city and boasts everything you could ever possibly want or need.
The fact that it’s connected to the mall makes it very comfortable to move about the city and stay in air conditioning for a bit longer than you would at most other hotels. That’s something special, considering how hot and sticky it can be in Bangkok! They also provide a free shuttle service to the front of the mall, near the BTS sky train station.
Lobby
Once inside the property, I was struck by the gorgeous lobby. Why do I get so excited over beautiful lobbies? It was amazing! Tall ceilings, beautiful artwork, bright lighting, and warm and friendly staff make this a lovely place to spend time. Throughout my stay I realized that this is a famous place to enjoy afternoon within Bangkok.
At the reception desk, the welcome was incredibly warm and I was served a refreshing welcome drink. It definitely hit the spot! I learned that I would be spending my first two nights in a Duplex Cabana on the Garden Wing and then two nights in an Deluxe Suite located on the Royal Wing. Please note that the Duplex Cabanas will be undergoing some updates shortly after my departure so I will focus mainly on the suite which was already updated.
The Property
Firstly, the Siam Kempinski Bangkok Hotel is basically a resort in the center of the city. It has a gorgeous oasis in the center and I wanted to pay special attention to it, it’s gorgeous!
Duplex Cabana
All of the buildings of the Siam Kempinski surround the beautiful oasis in the center equipped with four swimming pools and lots of places to relax. A major selling point of the property are that they have rooms with direct pool access. For the first two nights, I stayed in a Duplex Cabana at the end of the Garden Wing which had such access. Upon entering the room, I was immediately drawn to the large sliding doors that open to the pool. The main floor includes a living room, bathroom, working desk, closet, capsule coffee machine, kettle, and a complimentary minibar. The upper floor contains a bedroom, lounge area, large closet, and the master bathroom.
Complimentary minibars make me smile both inside and out! There were snacks and drinks, including beer! I also was a huge fan of their selection of high-quality teas.
I want to thank the incredible staff at the Siam Kempinski Hotel for the lovely welcome amenity and service throughout my stay which I will discuss in more detail later. They went above and beyond and personalized it with a photo of yours truly. I felt like a king!
The bedroom was very spacious just like the main floor and had a very comfortable bed with soft bedding.
The bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a floor to ceiling window. The bathtubs at this hotel are simply stunning!
Deluxe Suite
As mentioned, I also got to experience an incredible Deluxe Suite on the ninth floor of the Royal Wing. This suite had recently been updated and it was very evident throughout as it all felt rather fresh and elegant. The deluxe suite had a sizeable area of 130m². The Deluxe Suite felt more like an apartment as it had 2 bathrooms, a dining table, balcony, living room, working desk, walk-in closet, and a massive bedroom. It seems that everything at the Siam Kempinski is grandiose and this included the living room which had plenty of space and very comfortable furniture.
The view from the balcony and windows was stunning! Once again, like the cabana rooms, the view was of the oasis below but also easy to take in the city surroundings as well to give a bit of perspective.
The bedroom was impressive, with lovely furniture and a king size bed. I can tell everything was recently updated because of all of the convenient light switches, NFC phone charger, universal outlets, and USB ports. Almost everything was connected to the master switch which was convenient except I would’ve liked the bedside table lights to be connected as well.
The master bathroom popped with style. Inside was a standalone bathtub, shower stall, and toilet stall. The bathroom was separated with a window but once again could be closed off by a blind if needed. Overall, I definitely liked the convenience of being situated on the Royal Wing which had easy access to the Executive Club Lounge and a direct entrance to the Siam Paragon Mall as well.
Turn-Down Service
Doesn’t a great turn-down service just make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? Each evening the staff would enter the room when I was out for dinner and prepare everything for a perfect rest. Two out of the four nights they went above and beyond the typical turn-down protocol and provided a very relaxing foot bath. Great job Siam Kempinski staff!
Executive Club Lounge
Throughout my four night stay I had access to the Executive Club Lounge located on the 17th floor. The lounge has breathtaking views and offers daily afternoon tea and evening cocktails with food. The lounge has multiple rooms and tons of choices of comfortable seating. I found the staff at the lounge to be just delightful! They were warm throughout the stay and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Along with the great service, the food in the evening was just to die for. There was a wide variety of dishes and I was very impressed with the quality and authentic Thai flavor. Sitting inside, enjoying the atmosphere, eating quality food and taking in the view was a form of perfection! That being said, a few items during afternoon tea could have been a bit better.
Breakfast
The breakfast at the Siam Kempinski Hotel takes place on the ground floor at The Addition, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. It was great to enjoy breakfast under the trees, next to the pool. The breakfast features a large variety of both à la carte and buffet options. The staff really went above and beyond throughout my stay to make sure I enjoyed myself and I want to thank them for it very much. I truly feel some of the staff became my friends and would love to return sooner than later! It’s easy to find everything you need at the breakfast. Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines in the world so I tended to focus on that but everything was seriously delicious! Everyday it was a pleasure to see the staff and enjoy the food.
Kempinski The Spa
Kempinski The Spa is located in the Garden Wing of the Siam Kempinski Hotel. During my stay I got to experience a 90 minute Autumn Sleep Relaxing Massage treatment. Long story short it was fantastic! You can read about the full experience which I will discuss in more detail in a separate article here.
Fitness and Relaxation
As mentioned, the Siam Kempinski feels more like a resort than a standard city hotel. In addition to the numerous outdoor swimming pools, up one floor from Kempinski The Spa, are the fitness and relaxation areas. The gym is equipped with every piece of fitness equipment someone would need for the perfect workout. Tons of cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines are at the ready. I enjoyed working out here immensely. You can find the relaxation areas inside the locker rooms which include saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. Enjoying these facilities daily is great for your health and truly a pleasure to use!
Sra Bua by Kiin Kiiin Restaurant
On the ground floor of the property is the legendary Sra Bua by Kiin Kiiin restaurant. On the last night of my stay I got to experience their eight-course Winter Journey Dinner accompanied with wine pairing. I must say that this was above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. This was truly a world-class restaurant that blew my mind! It was incredibly tasty, had great service, great atmosphere, and was much more of an culinary adventure than just a standard dinner. I’ve reviewed the finest restaurants all around the world and can say that this was one of my favorites to date. I wrote a separate article about the incredible experience which you can read about in more detail here.
Conclusion
At this point, I have reviewed a majority of the luxury hotels in Bangkok, Thailand. I’ve come to learn over the years that there are a few hotels that stand out from the others, and are part of an upper echelon of luxury. I can now say that Siam Kempinski is definitely one of them! The stay was simply absolutely amazing, in every aspect. If this were baseball, the Siam Kempinski hit the ball out of the park. If you enjoy top of the line luxury, I definitely recommend a stay at the Siam Kempinski Bangkok Hotel.
