Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon Hotel is simply the epitome of what most people think of when they think of luxury. I was excited to visit for months in advance and finally it was time! During this trip, I was showing my father around Portugal and decided to experience a couple nights at this magnificent property. Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon is located right near the Marquês de Pombal statue, in the city’s center.

On the day of our arrival we walked into a bright lobby which was recently decorated for the holidays in a modern Christmas style by a local urban artist. I must say I liked the contemporary Christmas tree art! In addition to the art, I enjoyed the luxurious lobby very much as it was very grand and elegant already.
After a lovely check in with the staff, it was up to the eighth floor to my room with a balcony! Just like the rest of the public areas of the hotel, the room was very spacious. The style was fairly minimal but everything was gorgeous and had a sense of luxury. As mentioned, the room featured a large balcony with very impressive views of the Eduardo VII Park, and the rest of Lisbon. There was a capsule coffee machine, lounge chair with ottoman, working desk, large closet, international outlet, and a large television. There wasn’t a tea kettle in the room but one can easily be requested from the staff.
Views from the balcony were seriously epic!
The bathroom was well equipped with a dual-sink vanity, bath tub, shower stall, toilet stall with bidet, and high-end toiletries.
While I was out exploring the hotel, the staff delivered a lovely welcome gift that included local Portuguese pastries known as Pastel De Nata, fresh fruit, Port Wine, and a bottle of water. A visit to Portugal really isn’t complete without trying the famous Pastel De Nata which are incredible egg tarts created before the 18th century. I was in utter bliss with this match made in heaven!
Little touches seem to always set the Four Seasons apart from the competition. For example, during the turn-down service, the staff left a branded eyeglass cleaning cloth! Now that is luxury service.
In the lower level of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon are the impressive relaxation facilities and pool. The indoor pool is glorious with lots of places to lounge areas around it. Not far from the pool are the changing rooms which are divided by gender and feature both steam rooms and saunas. These are definitely very notable points of the property. The hotel’s facilities are incredibly well-maintained and offer everything of the highest quality. In the the changing rooms there was citrus infused water, dried fruit, fresh fruit, and a wide variety of high-end toiletries. This place was a true paradise!
Another paradise of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon was on the rooftop. You guessed correctly, it’s the fitness facilities! As you would imagine these are also very extensive and include nearly every type of equipment needed. There was even an outdoor running track and outdoor workout area in addition to the indoor gym. I was impressed that at the gym there was a small food buffet which included grilled chicken! If that’s not luxury, then I don’t know what is!
From the property, my father and I got a chance to explore around the city including Belem Tower and Jardim do Castelo de São Jorge. The 500 year old Belem Tower was especially great during sunset!
Breakfast was served at the Veranda Restaurant. The Veranda’s dining room was utterly glorious, with it’s very grand and elegant interior. For food, there was a very extensive breakfast buffet offering multiple cuisines from around the world. Every item I bit into was flawless whether it was the juicy sausage or incredibly flavorful Japanese-style salmon. This paired with great service guaranteed an extremely happy Pierre!
During my stay, I also had a chance to have a drink at the lobby bar and dinner at the Veranda Restaurant. The bar felt very relaxed with it’s dark tones. This paired with lovely service was delightful. I enjoyed my Plymouth barrel aged Negroni.
The Veranda Restaurant is the property’s fine dining restaurant. As mentioned when I had discussed the breakfast, the dining room was simply glorious! I truly enjoyed just being in the room. For the dinner, I went for the White Truffle Tasting Menu. I did find some very interesting dishes, especially the portobello mushroom amuse-bouche, scallops for the first course, and the sweets at the end that I enjoyed very much! The service at the restaurant was top-notch throughout the evening. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.
I think that the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon is one of the most feature-packed hotels in the city. The hotel had absolutely everything I could have wanted. The hotel’s age adds to its classic luxurious charm. The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon really focuses on quality. Everywhere I turned I noticed impressive details. When it’s all said and done, those who enjoy the finer things should look no further than Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon when visiting Portugal!
