After three and a half years away, it was great to be back in Estoril, Portugal at the InterContinental Hotel! As you know from reading the first article on this property, it sits right along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean offering a superb environment. The property is still fairly new and modern and it is clearly reflected throughout the premises. This time I was visiting with my father and we arrived by car early in the afternoon. The front desk staff even came out to assist us with our luggage!

We were then checked in and offered a welcome drink. The lobby was still as gorgeous as I remember and there was a new lovely bar which had ocean views. After the heartwarming welcome, it was time to continue down the hallway to our two identical rooms.
As I remembered from before, the room was very spacious with a modern style and accented with Portuguese artwork. Immediately after entering, my eyes were drawn to the incredible balcony. The glass wall offered supreme ocean and pool views. This coast is seriously striking. From the hotel it is very easy to access the beach walk which stretches far in both directions.
The king-size bed was very comfortable and multiple varieties of pillows were available. This InterContinental Cascais-Estoril room featured a capsule coffee machine, teakettle with tea and hot chocolate, desk, lounge chair with ottoman, great lighting controls, and more.
The bathroom was also massive with a standalone bathtub, toilet stall, separate shower stall, color changing lights, and double sink vanity. The room had everything I wanted!
Thank you InterContinental Cascais-Estoril for the welcome wine, fruit, and the sweets, they were lovely!
At times InterContinental Cascais-Estoril felt like a resort. The hotel’s facilities are immense and feature an indoor pool, outdoor pool, fitness center, and both steam and sauna. All of the facilities were top-notch and well-maintained. I couldn’t get enough of the pool and enjoyed swimming as often as possible.
The spa is actually connected to the pool. During my stay I had a 30 minute relaxation massage that focused on my back. It was seriously incredible! The spa itself was top notch and the service was lovely as well. I was happy that my therapist new what they were doing, a true professional.
The fitness center was in the level below the spa facilities. It was a modern facility with lots of equipment presented in a well-lit room. Perfect.
The InterContinental Cascais-Estoril’s buffet breakfast is located on the lobby level. From all areas of the dining area there were jaw-dropping ocean views. The buffet was no ordinary buffet, this was an incredibly extensive buffet with so many options that my head exploded. What an absolutely glorious breakfast and dining environment.
During my stay a chance to once again eat at the Atlantico Restaurant which you can read about in a separate article here. I’d highly recommend the Hake fillets with Stew Rice if you like it spicy like me!
Overall, the InterContinental Cascais-Estoril Hotel is a very incredible and consistent property that felt like more of a beach resort than a standard hotel! This property is fantastic on all counts and didn’t leave me desiring for much more (although I always do like club lounges.) The incredible service, quality rooms, tasty food, and top-notch facilities are hard to beat. In conclusion, I highly recommend a stay at the InterContinental Cascais-Estoril Hotel!
