As soon as I arrived at the Marriott in Guangzhou, China, I felt like I was home. The year before, I stayed at the Marriott in Shanghai for 11 nights which you’ll have to read about in a separate article. This property felt very similar to the Shanghai property. After a very lovely greeting, I went up to the 13th floor to view my room.

The style was elegant, yet had a business touch. I really appreciated the large desk with a nice view from the room’s large window. The bathroom had both a shower stall as well as a bathtub which had a window to see the rest of the room. All very classy, Pierre likes!
They had large gardens that took up about five floors each and I felt they really added a great touch to the property. The gardens made the whole property feel more comfortable.
For my stay, I had access to the club lounge which is on the 20th floor. The Marriott Tianhe club lounge offers a special breakfast, afternoon snacks and tea as well as evening hors d’oeuvres and cocktail hour. You can enjoy cocktails from 5:30pm all the way to 9:30pm, and beer is available all day. Incredible! The breakfast was great but I also want to point out the great food in the evening! The lounge hors d’oeuvres are served from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and could easily replace dinner.
The lounge breakfast was great accompanied with the lovely view of Guangzhou. Lots of items to choose from which all tasted great. Well done Marriott, well done!
Just when I thought I couldn’t love this property more, I went down and checked out the gym, pool and spa facilities. The pool is designed to almost make you feel like you’re outdoors, the cabanas along the side give a strong beach feeling. The gym is also very lovely with lots of equipment. Moving into the changing rooms, you’ll find a steam room, sauna as well as a large hot tub. They really went all out here and I loved it.
During my stay at the property I also had a chance to enjoy dinner at their Man Ho restaurant which offers traditional Cantonese cuisine. Be sure to read about Man Ho in a separate article! When my time was up at the Marriott Tianhe in Guangzhou, I was incredibly sad to leave. Marriotts are so incredibly consistent, this property definitely beat all of my expectations. The property is located right in the center of the city. You can even walk down to the river, only about 25 minutes away and view all of the beautiful skyscrapers and the Canton Tower. All in all, my stay at the Marriott Tianhe in Guangzhou was magical and I can definitely recommend it to you!
