It is very apparent that Sofitel is a French hotel. Even in London it’s obvious because all of the employees are French. I love when French people speak English so I was already in a great mood!

The Sofitel St. James hotel in London is the most centrally located hotel I stayed at during my trip. How convenient, it’s right in the center of everything!
They gave me a comfortable room with a decent view. The styling of the room had some unique qualities including interesting entryway wallpaper and decorative pillows. The bathroom had black counter tops and tile which contrasted with the white walls. Years ago, while I was living in Thailand, I went to a bar at the Sofitel in Bangkok. During my time there I happened to use the Hermes hand lotion. I loved the scent! When I was reconnected with the same hand lotion in the Sofitel in London my heart melted. I had them deliver more and this was one of the best parts of my stay! It’s the little things that matter. Wink.
I understand that these buildings are old but the hotel still has a great gym! You definitely have what you need to get a great workout in and it wasn’t busy so this was also a plus. They also have a spaceship inside the gym which is very useful if you need to go to another galaxy. I still couldn’t figure out how to work it but I think it is some sort of relaxing chair. For now I will just pretend it’s a spaceship.
The next morning it was to their magnificent Balcon restaurant for breakfast. I want to start by saying that I love this dining room. It’s gorgeous, you have a pretty good view of London and the food was solid. So many breakfast options which obviously include a continental breakfast and traditional English breakfast. Along with some other a la carte and buffet options. They had smoked fish on the buffet that was fantastic. Overall solid breakfast!
My stay sped by so quickly because I was only there for a short time. You’ll have to read about my dinner at the Balcon restaurant also. Stay tuned! Overall, the experience was smooth and I would recommend this hotel for a certain type of visitors such as business travelers. Sofitel St. James is very centrally located and it’s a hotel that gets straight to the point. Enjoy!
