The Kensington’s Town House Restaurant Review (London, UK)

Last updated on February 12th, 2025

The Kensington hotel was recently refurbished and the results are very apparent in their Town House restaurant. The dining room is absolutely stunning! There is a fireplace and very comfortable seating. There are also back-lit bookshelves which create a great ambiance. While staying at the hotel I was very excited to try the restaurant!

Our server was of top-quality. He took the greatest care of us for the evening and I really appreciated his expertise in the field of hospitality. He also was very knowledgeable about wine and great at pairing them with our food. Cheers.

We started off with a few very interesting dishes. The first was shrimp in glass that resembled a beaker. Very interesting presentation. The second starter was pork cheek. How cheeky! Zing. The third was an open-faced crab sandwich. I wasn’t crabby after eating it! Out of the three the pork cheek and the crab were absolutely phenomenal! The shrimp was also good but didn’t blow us out of the water.

A few glasses of wine and some great conversation next to the fire later and we were ready to try the mushroom risotto and a steak. The mushroom risotto was possibly the best risotto I’ve ever had in my entire life! We also went with duck for an entrée which paired quite well with the mashed potatoes and vegetables it was served with.

Something very simple but amazing were some green beans that were sautéed with mint. This was a combination that I’ve never had before and I was absolutely thrilled by it. Who would think that something so simple would taste so great?

For dessert we ordered a crème brûlée martini as well as a dessert that was very well presented and tasted amazing!

When reminiscing about the meal, Pierre is put in a very warm mood. It was amazing overall! There was only one or two dishes out of the entire meal that weren’t perfect but they were awfully close! It would definitely be in your best interest to visit The Kensington’s Town House restaurant as soon as possible!
