I’m a huge fan of afternoon tea and got a chance to try several while I was in London. During my stay at the Flemings Mayfair hotel I had to try theirs after seeing their beautiful Drawing Room! Make sure you read the hotel review article here!
Of course we started with champagne. This is always great to set the mood and relax before the main event. Wink. Soon after we were offered a fine selection of teas by The East India Company. I went with the Dragonwell Lung Ching which was a wonderfully smooth green tea.
Once we put in some work on the champagne and tea the tower of magnificence arrived. They may have called it something different. Starting with the sandwiches we began our feast!
Of course the scones were next. The scones were great! There is a big war between the order of applying clotted cream and jam. Which do you put on first? I of course put on the clotted cream then the jam to keep it clean and organized. Do you do it the right way or wrong way? Discuss.
The pastries and other desserts were absolutely fantastic! You can tell that they really put lots of heart and soul into them. Delicious!
Whenever we needed something the staff was always around. We were there for several hours and it really was lovely. The Drawing Room is simply stunning. Seriously. The hotel has recently been refurbished so it feels very fresh and new! I would highly recommend that you visit the Flemings Mayfair hotel for a stay or afternoon tea as soon as possible! You won’t regret it.
