Pierre is always in search of a fantastic buffet. I heard about one inside of the JW Marriott Hotel in Dongdaemun, Seoul. If you’re wondering, I did review the hotel as well and you can read about that experience in a separate article here.
Walking into the Tavalo 24 restaurant is quite impressive. The dining room is as long as a football field and the entirety looks over the beautiful traditional Korean architecture of the Heunginjimun gate. The buffet is jam-packed with a variety of cuisines. For the evening that we visited, they were serving special American-style barbecue items along with the normal options.
Being in Korea, it was wonderful to find traditional Korean barbecue, which was my favorite food of the evening!
They also offer a wide variety of fresh seafood, including some super tasty sashimi. I can’t forget to mention an amazing part of the meal which was free-flow champagne. I had between 3 to 10 glasses which put me in quite the fantastic state of mind. Wink.
When it came to dessert, there were no shortages of choices. There were cakes, gelato and many small treats. Basically, anything that one could think of. I enjoyed a nice ice cream cone before calling it a night.
The experience was quite magnificent. Overall, I felt the quality and standard of food were quite high. The dining room is large yet very cozy because it is divided into sections and offers a superb view of the gate. The hotel is very well situated near the night market and the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. All in all, the experience was wonderful! If you are looking for a great dinner buffet in Seoul, South Korea, I would recommend you to visit Tavolo 24 inside of the JW Marriott hotel Dongdaemun Square.
