While wrapping up my latest hotel adventure in Tokyo, I made my final stop at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon in Asakusa. If you’re familiar with Tokyo, Japan, you’ll know that there are tons attractions in this area. It’s most famous for the Sensō-ji Buddhist Temple but there lots of shops, food and drink to explore as well! Pierre’s favorite style. Here you’ll find all kind of local goods that make great souvenirs as well. Without a doubt The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon offers a great jump-off point to explore all the area has to offer!
The visit started with checking in at the hotel lobby on the 13th floor. The staff were courteous upon check-in and informed me that my room was ready on the ninth floor. I went down to my room to see what I was working with! The room was mid-sized, complete with two beds and a great view of the Tokyo Sky Tree. A pleasant surprise was the high-quality capsule coffee maker next to a massive egg light. There was a small desk which suited me well for my stay.
The bathroom was in a very Japanese style with shower and bathtub sharing the same room. I liked how deep the tub was and how fast it filled up. A great way to relax after a long day of walking around.
Where The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon shines the most is during breakfast. The restaurant is located on the 13th floor, the same as the lobby. At breakfast there was both a small a la carte menu along with a modest buffet. For the first morning I went for the Eggs Benedict with Japanese Curry and the second morning, the French Toast. I must say both were very delectable!
The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon also has a rooftop terrace only accessible to hotel guests. I visited during the winter and it was beautiful. However, I’m sure that during the summer it’s even better!
When it’s all said and done, The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon is a great base to explore the Asakusa area with all it has to offer. This area has tons to explore indeed. I found the overall quality of the offering as well as the service to be satisfactory. I enjoyed my time in Asakusa at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon.
