Before coming to Guangzhou I heard that it was a food capital of China. Guangzhou is only a 30 minute train ride away from where I live in Shenzhen and has tons of cultural history, this equates to a lot of tasty treats! To help explore the culinary depths of Guangzhou, I enlisted the help of Eating Adventure Tours. If you don’t remember, I took a tour with them in Shanghai and had a life-changing experience.
Lucky for me, Eating Adventure Tours organized a custom localized tour of Guangzhou. We started in a very residential area that offered many fantastic delights. We even went to a local market and learned a lot about the produce. After eating a few tasty dishes, it was time to hop on a bike and cruise to our next stop.
This happened to be a street stall which offered another yummy potato filled snack before heading to our dim sum lunch. The food at lunch was extraordinary. I love dim sum and Guangzhou is famous for it!
After some good food and great discussion, it was on to the last few stops. These included a hidden noodle shop, a soup shop and of course dessert. I must say that after the lunch I was incredibly stuffed, but I forced myself to continue for as much as I could. It shows how much I care about my readers. Wink.
Eating Adventure Tours is a co-founder of The Independent Food Tour Association (TIFTA) which have brought together the best food tours together globally. I’m fairly sure that if you find a tour that is part of TIFTA you’ll be in for an extraordinary experience. A huge plus by booking a tour with any companies in the organization is that you will then be entitled to a 10% discount on your next tour with any other company in the association.
Eating Adventure Tours gives you a truly in-depth culture experience that you should be seeking out when you travel. It goes without saying that having a local show you around a new city will give you a much better insight than you could possibly have on your own, so don’t just skim the surface, join an Eating Adventure tour the next time you visit China!
