A few years back, I paid my first visit to the Nadaman Restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. That experience was good, but didn’t wow me like my return visit did this year! This time around there was more magic. This actually occurred during my stay at the property, which you can read about here.
The meal started with a dark version of Asahi beer, which as it turns out, is much more flavorful than standard Asahi. Soon after came a variety of side dishes, that all tasted great and complemented each other. The seafood items really stood out to me. Next up was the sashimi selection, I fell in love with tuna as usual!
Then I tried a mix of vegetable and seafood tempura. It’s hard to go wrong with tempura! After I finished, I ordered a glass of of the Avant Cabernet Sauvignon from California to pair with the upcoming Wagyu! Thinking back now is making me salivate. The meat was perfect and the crispy garlic was a nice addition.
Now it was time for some sushi! Each bite was bursting with flavor. I noted the rice was perfectly moist to complement the fish.
To finish off this fantastic meal was an an amazing dessert. For dessert I ordered the Mango Pudding and the Matcha no Anmitsu. These were out of this world and I highly recommend both. I was so satisfied and pleasantly surprised by this experience. The service throughout the dinner and the stay at Shangri-La were top-notch. Overall, the evening was incredible and now I can really feel confident in recommending a meal at Nadaman Restaurant in Tokyo!
