The first few nights in New York I stayed near Time Square. However, a few nights later I moved farther north and stayed at the Marriott Essex House hotel which has a beautiful view of Central Park. I could tell from the moment I walked in that I was going to enjoy my time there.

The feeling you get when you walk in the front door provides you with a feeling of luxury. When I saw nice this style I felt at peace and in my natural element. Wink.
I got an upgraded room on the 32nd floor with a fantastic view of Central Park. When I arrived there was no snow to be heard of but there was an impending storm. You may have heard of it, it was dubbed the blizzard of 2016. I couldn’t think of a better place to wait out a winter storm!
I was just so happy to be in my luxurious element that whatever happened outside I didn’t mind. There was a desk in the room which faced the window and was a perfect place to get some work done. The bathroom was also quite nice with a sink that was raised. I really liked the styling overall.
Once I was settled in, I hopped into a JW Marriott robe, got a coffee and got some work done. This is Pierre’s happy time. As you all should know, the Marriott has great bedding! It was so comfortable! I sunk into an abyss of pillows and slept like a baby Pierre. When I know that there is a great breakfast waiting for me in the morning I get super excited! However, first I experienced a dinner at their Southgate restaurant.
The next morning I woke up to a huge blanket of snow covering all of New York! Blizzard of 2016 here we go! Lucky for me I only had an afternoon tea appointment a couple blocks away.
They serve breakfast the hotel breakfast buffet style or à la carte at the Southgate restaurant. Of course I could’ve ordered à la carte but I wanted to try everything they had to offer to give you the best review possible. You’re welcome.
I make such good decisions! Making multiple trips to the buffet I was able to collect a feast for a king. Breakfast buffets make me so happy especially when there’s smoke salmon and pickles. Even days later, while writing this review I’m getting super hungry!
Another feature I really appreciated about this hotel was their fitness center. Not only did they have great workout equipment but they had fantastic facilities including a sauna and my personal favorite, a steam room. I was in the process of beating my cold into commission so this was great! I was super refreshed and ready to take on the world after I sweated it all out.
My stay at the Marriott Essex House hotel could’ve lasted forever. It’s actually my dream to one day live at a hotel such as this. For now this wasn’t the case so sadly it was time to depart. Overall, what a fantastic experience. There were a few minor issues that weren’t even worth mentioning and the stay was quite splendid in the end. Great service, great location, great food and wonderful facilities made the JW Marriott Essex House a prime hotel to visit! I must recommend you to stay here when you’re in New York City!
