All of you are great people and I know you read the review of the Grosvenor House JW Marriott Hotel where I mentioned how amazing the recent updates have been. While in London last time around I was able to try a few different afternoon teas at some of the finest hotels London has to offer. My favorite of the bunch was at the Park Room inside the Grosvenor House JW Marriott Hotel.
First things first, let’s discuss the stunning Park Room. The room just gets me excited. So classy, elegant and overall beautiful. A majority of the room uses whites and lighter colors and then they contrast that with a few green sofas. A masterpiece! We haven’t even gotten to the tea yet and I’m already in love. Lucky for us our server was from Thailand and you know that I speak Thai so I was very excited to chat her up a bit! For those of you who are familiar with afternoon tea. you’ll know that it’s not all just about the tea. A lot of it is about the food and the champagne!
We also received a pink welcome drink with white chocolate and pop rocks on the top. Note to any food establishment. Do something unique that will leave a lasting impression on your guest’s. Pop rocks happen to be a very unique way to start an afternoon tea. Well done JW, well done.
Typically tea doesn’t get super exciting. However, when you order a tea that encompasses so much flavor it shocks you then it becomes very exciting indeed! The tea I ordered had the word milk in it. With all my experience living in Asia, when I think of milk tea I think of tea with condensed milk added to it and perhaps bubbles. However, this was something different. This was a tea that had a milky flavor even though there was no milk present. How they do this is beyond me and astonishing!
Soon after we got some open-faced sandwiches that were just a delight, specifically the shrimp and salmon. Then after it was time for our tower of goodness! As per usual the bottom is the place for sandwiches and as you move up you get sweeter and sweeter. Everything on the stand was a delight. My favorite sandwich had to be the chicken sandwich. We were sure to get a few extras!
I absolutely love afternoon tea but I don’t normally get this excited. However, this was a phenomenal experience. It’s a great way to spend the afternoon! I recommend you very highly to pay a visit to the Grosvenor House JW Marriott Hotel not only for a stay but an afternoon tea experience in their Park Room!
