I arrived to Lisbon late in the evening. This was my first time and I was so excited! After I landed at the airport I quickly found the metro and cruised down to the Sheraton hotel.

I didn’t arrive until about 10:30pm so I settled in and did a little exploration and then went to sleep. Before sleeping I took note of the room and some of the facilities. First thing you’ll noticed in the room is that the bathroom is connected to the rest of the room by clear glass windows. I love this type of open design because it gives the feeling of a larger room with less restrictions. Pierre likes freedom. The room was already sizable but this made it feel even bigger. It was all really quite comfortable.
They left me a welcome plate of egg tarts. To me they look just like the sort produced in Hong Kong or Taiwan. After a little research I realized it’s because they are! When parts of China were under Portuguese control they introduced these tasty treats. In Portugal, these are called Pastel de nata. Along with the egg tarts they included a bottle of aged sweet tawny porto wine. Very sweet and great accompaniment to the dessert.
I was on one of their club floors which was the 21st so I had access to the club lounge on the 24th floor. The next morning I woke up, got ready and headed up to the club lounge for breakfast. My view is pretty good in my room but the view in the lounge is even better and even better than that is the view in the Panorama restaurant which you’ll be able to read about shortly. Wink.
These days I’m trying to cut down my breakfast food quantities to stay fit. Despite my efforts I was still was able to make quite a large breakfast at the club lounge. They had all of the normal favorites including salmon with capers and obviously some great fresh fruit. This isn’t your typical tasteless fresh fruit this was some top-of-the-line stuff!
After my breakfast I decided to explore the rest of what the hotel had to offer. They have a great gym on the first floor and they also have a fantastic outdoor pool. The pool is what really caught my eye. This must be quite the hang out in the summertime. The design is just glorious. Near the pool area there are tons of ways to relax including a steam room, sauna and a hot tub. Not to mention tons of little seating areas where you can just chill out.
Luckily throughout my stay, the staff were very kind and helped me whenever I had any questions. I spent two nights at the Sheraton and the second morning I decided to try the breakfast in the main lobby.
This is where you can go for the big behemoth type breakfast. Everything you could imagine was lined up in a buffet format at this breakfast. Even though I had the option I still stuck with my old standby. Must stay in shape!
I only briefly touched on how amazing this view is but it’s something to really consider when you stay at this hotel. I’ve heard it’s the best in the Lisbon! I can believe them because it’s magnificent. Everyone treated me kindly and I didn’t have any bad experiences at the hotel. Their pool and relaxation areas are something truly unique and amazing. Overall, the food was good and it was nice to have lounge access. I almost forgot to mention that the hotel is not too far from a metro station and it is very centrally located. For all of these reasons and more I would highly recommend you to stay at the Sheraton hotel in Lisbon the next time you’re in Portugal.
