While staying at the beautiful Porto Bay Liberade hotel in Lisbon, Portugal I had a chance to try their restaurant called Bistro4. I think it was a pretty good decision. Wink. I was thrilled with the number of local and authentic items that they offered on the menu. That is actually the original reason I chose to eat at this restaurant along with some other great ratings I found in Lisbon.
Another great feature to point out is that they only serve Portuguese wines which is great if you’re interested in trying local cuisine. We started with some smoked octopus. Smoking adds a very unique texture to the octopus. We also went for some fried fish that was definitely a game changer!
Last but not least were some amazing muscles that were light and made Pierre feel quite healthy along with some deep-fried Green beans. I have never had deep-fried Green beans until visiting Portugal and these might be the best thing ever.
For the entrées what really sticks out in my mind is their pork cheek. The outer layers have this beautiful crispiness which I could eat forever and it was accompanied with some quinoa. So succulent and perfect with the red wine.
We were planning to have only two desserts but our server insisted that we try three to compare and it was a tough decision but we decided to go for it. Wink. We went with a coconut couscous which has nothing to do with actual couscous. It is just the way that the coconut is cut and this was by far my favorite dessert of the evening.
The food overall was very fantastic I truly enjoyed almost everything. I also enjoyed the styling of the dining room however I wish they would’ve turn the lights down a bit to set the mood more. All in all it was a very fantastic evening at Bistro4 in Lisbon, Portugal. If you live in Portugal or if you’re visiting Bistro4 is definitely a place you need to check out!
