While staying at the Peninsula Hotel Tokyo, just next to the Imperial Gardens, I had a chance to have a dinner at the Peter restaurant on the 24th floor. I must say that the major selling point of the restaurant is this magnificent view!
When it came to the dinner to try some of the best food that restaurant had to offer, I went with a set menu. It was a three-course menu that started with a salad. This pleased Pierre.
The fact of the matter is, I was mostly excited about the Kobe beef loin. This was a major driving factor in the decision to try the restaurant. If you’re unfamiliar with Japanese beef, you better get familiar because this is a life-changing cow. I can do my best to describe it, but until you eat it, you won’t really understand the magic. For my main course, I opted for the Kobe beef loin. This beef loin has the perfect balance of fat to meat. This is definitely some of the best beef that I have ever had! Go ahead, live a little and order the Kobe beef loin!
I believe the portion size is 100 grams so it seemed to disappear quite quickly. I loved it so much I could eat it everyday. What followed in the three course menu was obviously the dessert. Not only was it beautifully presented but super tasty. Everything was topped off with a nice cup of coffee.
I must say that overall, the experience was pleasant. The service could’ve been a little quicker and the staff more attentive but the main takeaway was that A majority of the food was great and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. All in all, I can recommend you to eat at Peter at the top of the Peninsula hotel in Tokyo.
