I returned to Singapore this year for my third visit. The first stop was at the Swissotel Merchant Court hotel. From the airport, it took me about 45 minutes to arrive at the Clark Quay MRT station which is right next to the hotel. The property feels like a resort with very large pool in the center and it is situated next to a small canal. This area is very lively at all times of day but a very relaxing place to be.

I was happy to learn that I secured a club room on the 11th floor of the property. The room had a strong sense of quality. I really loved the headboard, which made a strong statement. The room was very spacious and had a lovely coffee station. They also offer a Handy phone, which has internet, that you can take outside the hotel.
Moving into the bathroom continued the sense of quality. Great tile work!
Lucky for me I had a view of the pool below which looked great at all hours.
Every day I made sure to head down to the third floor to use the gym and spa facilities. Their gym was very extensive and included three rooms, all filled with equipment. Moving into the changing rooms I found a very nice sauna and steam room. Pierre approved.
After cleaning myself up, I took a chance to visit the club lounge on the 11th floor. The lounge was very comfortable. There, guests are served breakfast, soft drinks all day and evening cocktails and canapes. I was very satisfied with the offering in the lounge even though they didn’t offer food for afternoon tea time. The food selection in the evening was definitely extensive. A variety of dishes which filled me right up including fried shrimp, chicken wings and even a night with Greek food. The food changed daily. Well done Swissotel!
What really impressed me with at the property was the quality of service. I’d leave my room to go grab a snack at the lounge in the evening, and I’d return fairly quickly to find that my room had already been turned-down and chocolate placed on my bed. Very impressed indeed!
While at the property, I ate a buffet dinner at their Ellenborough Market Cafe. Don’t let the name fool you, this was a large restaurant serving of lots of local and international dishes. My favorites of the evening were the freshly prepared noodles, dumplings as well as the bread pudding.
This Swissotel property really left nothing bad to report! The stay was so smooth and comfortable. This is the way it should be, smooth sailing without hiccups. Occasionally, I have to take small issues in stride, but I can honestly say there were none here. The Swissotel Merchant Court hotel is definitely a great high-end hotel that I would be able to highly recommend!
