I’ve never visited Japan and had anything short of an absolutely spectacular time! This was the second time I’ve visited Japan as a travel and food writer and fifth time overall!
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the Shangri-La Tokyo hotel staff at the Haneda airport. This airport is much closer to the city center than Narita. I would highly recommend that you stay away from the Narita airport because it is so far.
I love exploring Japanese cuisine. One of my favorite foods is Japanese Ramen. I visited about seven different Ramen shops during my week long stay! Bloated to say the least. When it was all said and done, I much preferred Ramen in Fukuoka but still found some decent bowls while in Tokyo.
Another fantastic food that I really enjoy is Japanese beef. My favorite steak of the trip was from Kobe and probably one of the best steaks of my life. This was inside of the Peninsula hotel at their Peter restaurant.
All and all, Japan is always a magical experience. There are tons of aspects of Japanese culture that I truly admire and I can’t wait to return! Until then, watch the video below to get a glimpse of my adventure!
