Yotel Hotel Review (New York, New York)

Last updated on April 15th, 2025

Having new experiences is what makes life interesting. From the moment I arrived at the Yotel in New York City I knew that this was going to be something new and fresh. When you walk into the Yotel which is in Times Square, the first thing you’ll notice is that there is no reception counter! At first I was a bit baffled but there was a man who pointed me in the direction of a check in machine. Similar to a ticket kiosk at the airport, you’ll go through their automated check in process exclusively with the machine. Once it spits out your keys you’re free to go to your room. I’m in the future!

The fourth floor is where they have the traditional styled lobby. On this floor there is also a waiting area, restaurant, gym, a cafe of sorts and other facilities. After snooping around I hustled up to my room to see what I was working with!

If you didn’t know, Pierre is a minimalist. Therefore, the style of the room agreed with my personal preferences. How fitting. It was clean, stylish and straight to the point just like me! The room offered a truly remarkable view. Two of the four walls were floor to ceiling windows. This offered a spectacular vantage point of the city and was great during sunrise and sunset. On a side-note, I forgot to close the blinds a few times when I was changing so the neighboring buildings got quite a show. You’re welcome.

The room had some creative features which I appreciated like USB ports in the side of the bed and a purple light that went around the TV. This gave me a spaceship feel. After figuring out what was what in the room it was time to get my exploring of New York City on! I spent the day out eating and drinking with my friends and eventually retired back to the hotel for some well-deserved handsome sleep. What a comfortable bed!

The next morning I was very curious to see the breakfast. On the fourth floor they offer tea, coffee and muffins. When I first read about the muffin breakfast I was quite skeptical. However, after muffin consumption I found that it was quite a tasty breakfast! Sugar and caffeine buzz initiated! A great feature which Pierre truly enjoyed was the 24 hour tea and coffee. This was great because I like to work from my room during the day so I had an unlimited source of energy!

While at the hotel I was very busy so I didn’t have a chance to use the gym but it definitely had what you need to stay fit. During my stay I didn’t meet too many staff at the hotel, but the people I did engage with were very pleasant. Upon checkout I was wished happy travels and left with a smile on my Pierre. Hotels take note! I can’t stress how important this is! Nobody wants to leave a hotel feeling anything less than spectacular.

Pierre’s stay only lasted a couple nights but everything was fantastic! As you know, I generally stick to a certain style of hotel but this clean and stylish design really was truly refreshing and a nice change from the normal! The location is wonderful and you can explore New York City quite easily. I really appreciated the 24 hour coffee and tea. It’s the little things that count. If you’re looking for a hotel that gets straight to the point and gets the job done in a stylish way then you must visit the Yotel in New York!
