Just a short hour drive from the Dead Sea and you’re back in Amman. The hour flew by because I was constantly seeing things that I am not accustomed to. After arriving in Amman I went straight to the Grand Hyatt hotel. I was so excited to visit!

After an express check-in process I headed up to my room on the top floor of the hotel. In the Grand Hyatt’s case this is floor nine. Every Hyatt Hotel I’ve visited has music playing on their TV when I enter. When I first started reviewing I thought this was a little strange but for some reason it has put a spell on me over the years and puts me in my happy place!
The first thing I noticed was a nice city view. Alright, I lied the first thing I noticed was the cheese plate along with the dessert plate. Anyways, like I was saying after drooling a bit I walked over to the window and noticed a bottle of Jordan River wine. They do know how to welcome me. I really appreciated the clean design of the room. The headboard really stood out to me because of it’s gold color.
Next it was on to explore the intricacies of the bathroom. First things first is the shower and bathtub are in a connected space. If you look at the photos you’ll see that the shower is behind the same Doras the bathtub. I believe this is the first time I’ve seen it like this. It worked out great for when I wanted to take the culmination bath and shower. Wink. There was a small mirror that was also nice touch. To power it on you simply touch the power button and you don’t press. Am I in the future or what?
What really excites me is what comes next. Pierre loves hotel facilities. The first facility that I explored was there fitness center and pool area. First of all, in the men’s locker room they have a Jacuzzi plus a steam and a sauna. It’s all in the same room and it feels like you’re walking into paradise. Pure happiness.
Next you’ll notice that they have both an indoor and outdoor pool. It never occurred to me that it actually gets cold in the winter time in Jordan. So cold it actually snows so it makes sense that they would have a beautiful indoor pool.
After exploring the pool I went into the gym. The hotel boasts that their gym is open 24 hours a day which is always nice because I ended up getting a run in at midnight one of my nights there! People always ask me how I stay fit and its because I do crazy things like running after a giant meal. Stay tuned for the article where I go into my fitness and dietary regiment.
After all this excitement it was time to check out the Grand Hyatt lounge. The lounge is located on the ninth floor which is the same as my room so it made it very easy to make my way down there. The lounge offers everything you’d expect and more! First and foremost they offer breakfast. During the day they serve coffee, tea and snacks. Then during the evening hours they offer more food along with… drum roll please… alcoholic beverages! They offer a wide variety of spirits, wine and beer. I’m not Middle Eastern in anyway however I do take an affinity towards Arak. Arak is a Middle Eastern liquor flavored with anis that gives it a very smooth licorice flavor which I love!
During my two night stay I was actually able to eat at both of their wonderful restaurants. You know the drill, you’ll be able to read about Indochine and L’Icontro in separate articles!
The first breakfast which I experienced was in the executive lounge on the ninth floor. This breakfast was presented well but apparently is not the most common place to get breakfast in the hotel. Compared to the breakfast on the first floor it has a smaller selection but if you want your privacy it’s a great place to eat!
The breakfast on the ground floor in their 32 North restaurant was quite amazing. There were many hotel guests there and the food was changed often which kept it very fresh. Overall, the breakfast really hit the spot!
My time at the Grand Hyatt in Amman, Jordan will stay with me forever. It was a grand experience with amazing food and exceptional service. Jordan offers a very unique culture and something fresh to keep life exciting. The country has so much to offer and hotels like the Grand Hyatt offer an amazing place to rest and recuperate during all of your adventures. This is why I would like to say that the Grand Hyatt Amman offers a very complete package and a wonderful place to stay during your next trip to Jordan!
