Brooklyn is just over the bridge from Manhattan and has a completely different atmosphere. During the last couple days of my stay in New York City I decided to take a trip there to try out the Marriott.

The hotel has recently undergone some amazing renovations. Now it looks like a brand-new hotel! It’s very near the subway station so it makes it easy to bounce around to wherever you want to go in the city.
Once I made my way around the block to the hotel, I went up the escalator and checked in. I continued up to my room a few moments later. I have to say walking into this room was a pleasant surprise. The styling is really sleek! This hotel went with a darker color palette which offers a nice change to what I normally see and is very well done.
Sometimes hotels try to do this and it doesn’t look quite right but the Marriott definitely pulled it off. Very bold styling throughout the room. I really like the light fixtures that were next to the bed and over the seating area. The bathroom is fairly standard but still had a sense of quality.
What really gets Pierre excited when at hotels is a fantastic executive lounge. Pierre being the executive that he is, always enjoys his time there. I’m so obsessed with working on my laptop, drinking tea or coffee or both and just getting things done! Therefore, a lounge is my environment of choice.
The lounge offers snacks and beverages all day! In the evening they put out some hors d’oeuvres which could easily satisfy you instead of a dinner elsewhere.
I was finally feeling pretty good at this point in my trip after recovering from a cold so I hit the gym the following day. The fitness room is ginormous and they have a huge lap pool. Seriously what more could you need in a gym!?
After my fitness spree I cleaned myself up and went down to the lounge to say goodbye and enjoy breakfast. I like the fact that they offer healthy options during the breakfast such as egg whites. During my travels I eat so much that I really need to focus on backing off when I can. Obviously they have regular breakfast items as well which all had a fairly good taste.
It was really nice to be in Brooklyn for a night instead of Manhattan. I could tell there was a lot of cultural difference there. Even the staff at the hotel had of completely different way of speaking. I greatly enjoyed my time at the hotel. I don’t really have any major complaints. If you’re traveling to New York and you need to stay in Brooklyn, the Marriott hotel is a great choice!
