While in Toronto and staying at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, I had a chance to have a dinner at their TOCA Italian Restaurant. TOCA is located just above the Ritz Bar and hotel lobby.
Actually, our evening began with drinks at the Ritz Bar which were both lovely.
The interior of TOCA is classier but still slightly casual. The low-light makes for an intimate setting. I personally enjoyed the setting.
For the evening we went with the chef’s tasting menu with accompanied wine pairings. Overall, the tasting menu provided a wide variety of dishes to keep your palate guessing. My favorites for the evening were the Salmone Affumicato, Pollo and Lampone for dessert. Along with these great dishes were several pairings of wine. My favorite wine pairing was the Lampone with Brachetto d’Acqui.
The service was fantastic throughout the evening and for the rest of my stay at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto. The dishes I’ve mentioned earlier were the ones that stood out, the rest could use some more attention along with their wine pairings. Overall, and enjoyable evening.
